1.8 Million Nevadans to Shop Over Thanksgiving Weekend Thanksgiving Day Shopping Volume Expected to be Record High Following the customary Thanksgiving feast, residents of Nevada are set to flock to local retailers in pursuit of savings and the season's hottest gifts. The shopping extravaganza kicks off on Thanksgiving Day and intensifies with a shopping frenzy on Black Friday. The weekend unfolds with Small Business Saturday and culminates in a day of online shopping on Cyber Monday. According to estimates by the Retail Association of Nevada (RAN), around 1.8 million Nevadans are gearing up to partake in the four-day Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Monday shopping event, a period when retailers entice bargain-hunting consumers with substantial discounts. RAN's forecasts are based on survey data from the National Retail Federation (NRF), which projects that over 182 million Americans are either planning or contemplating shopping between Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday. Black Friday is anticipated to maintain its status as the busiest day of the shopping weekend, with a record-breaking 71.8 percent of survey participants intending to shop — a 5.0 percent increase from the previous year and an 8.7 percent bump from pre-pandemic levels. Cyber Monday is poised to be the secondbusiest day, with 39.1 percent of shoppers gearing up to participate. The proportions of shoppers venturing out on Thanksgiving Day, Small Business Saturday, and the subsequent Sunday are 17.9 percent, 36.1 percent, and 19.3 percent, respectively.

This trend, gaining popularity in recent years and accelerating during the pandemic, has seen holiday shoppers completing an average of 25.0 percent of their planned purchases. Moreover, 18.0 percent of holiday shoppers have already completed at least half of their holiday shopping, a notable uptick from the 11.0 percent reported a decade ago.
