We are very excited to present our 4th Annual “Barber’s Red & White Holiday Lights” Sale, held in the historic Stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016. is will once again be a great opportunity to select the top heifers from our current spring-born calf crop. Rest assured that nothing will be sold prior to sale day and that you have the opportunity to choose from the best we have to offer. We are proud to say that for the past four years, we have had a national Champion or Reserve national Champion female offered for sale in Fort Worth.

Also, with the popularity of selling embryos the past few years, we have ramped up our frozen genetics selection by offering sexed heifer calf pregnancies for the first time ever, some great embryos (including some that will be the last of their kind) and a wide range of semen that we have never before offered in a sale. All embryo packages will sell with a one pregnancy guarantee unless otherwise stated, as some of the embryo packages are the last of their kind and the dam is no longer with us. In the case you buy an embryo package without a guarantee and do not receive a pregnancy, you will receive credit for the purchase price in next year’s sale.

All the cattle being sold will be on display in the Stockyards beginning ursday prior to the sale, and for the first time this year the cattle will sell through the recently restored historic sale ring, where thousands of head of cattle were offered regularly in Fort Worth years ago. e sale facility is connected to the pens where the cattle are held on display, and there will be a cocktail hour and hors d´oeuvres directly before the sale to go along with plenty of great Hereford fellowship throughout the weekend. We invite everyone to attend the sale and bring their family for a fun weekend when the entire Stockyards is dressed up for Christmas.

Barber Ranch has always placed a huge emphasis on raising females that are competitive in the show ring and that are bred to perform in the pasture. We have as good a track record as there is at raising cattle that compete and win at the national level. You will have the opportunity to purchase the cattle that would normally go into our donor and replacement female program. Many females have sold through this sale to become competitive show heifers and then even better cows with exceptional udders—and that’s truly our goal. For the past decade, BR Gabrielle 5082 has been the foundation of our program.

Gabrielle is no longer with us, and this offering represents the closing of a chapter, as this will be the last opportunity to purchase a direct daughter of Gabrielle from one of our auctions. erefore, this offering is heavy on Gabrielle’s bloodline—the most successful lineage we have ever produced. In addition to these great heifer calves, we are offering semen packages on a bull calf that we are a big believer in. In last year’s sale, we offered semen on another bull we believed in; he went on to be named the Supreme Champion Hereford in Denver the following month.

SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS Cattle are offered for sale under the current Terms and Guarantees recommended by the American Hereford Association, which can be viewed at www.hereford.org. Animals will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense after payment is received in full. Show expenses on jointly owned females will be prorated. Announcements made at the sale will supercede all printed material. We reserve the right to withdraw any sale lot not meeting our specifications prior to sale time. Note: Barber Ranch reserves the right to two future flushes on each of the heifer calves selling, with a minimum of six embryos per flush.

Here’s How It Works…

Turn in Bids Over the Phone. This is our traditional method of buying livestock. To get started, simply go online to www.superiorlivestock.com and click on the tab titled “Register for a Buyer Number.” Select the registration form for Superior Productions and print the registration form, fill it out and fax it in to Superior Productions at 817.378.3380 with a sig nature on it. You can also mail it in to the address provided on the form. Upon receipt of this information, Superior will call you with a buyer’s number and the bid line phone number that you will use on sale day to place bids over the phone.

Click-To-Bid. This is Superior’s newest way to buy cattle! Please note that high speed internet is required—this is not for dial-up or satellite internet. Registration is free, but you must become a member of www.superiorclicktobid.com to sign up. Becoming a member is easy—just go to the homepage of www.superiorclicktobid.com and follow the outlined steps to get started. Input your information and select a username and password. You will receive an e-mail confirming you are a member. From that point forward you just have to sign in and select the sale you would like to register for and once approved you will receive an e-mail confirming which sale you are now registered for.

Belle Air was born a week early at 61 pounds; his sire, 240, is a herd sire for Copeland & Sons that is known for true calving ease and for siring calves that come early. Belle Air’s dam sold as Lot 1 in our 2014 Holiday Lights Sale, commanding $75,000 for half interest; she is an outcross daughter out of one of our best Sooner/ Gabrielle cows, 8052. Belle’s udder is crazy great! e Hereford breed is already quite familiar with the Sooner/ Gabrielle bloodline that Barber Ranch has showcased for the past decade, and when you combine those genetics with the performance of outcross and the calving ease of 240, you get Belle Air. His genomically enhanced EPDs include a spread of BW 1.2 to YW 95 plus incredible carcass numbers. Belle Air is incredibly stout but came light and without trouble, and we expect him to pass this on.

Gabrielle is known for adding an extra dimension of maternal ability to her progeny that few cows have ever been able to pass on at such a high level. is polled May About Time daughter really combines everything we strive to raise in a great package. She’s really stout, correct in her structure and one of the best bodied females you will see anywhere. We expect this heifer to have a big time show career and then make an excellent cow.
