TERMS & CONDITIONS: the terms are cash. All cattle will sell under the Terms and Conditions as recommended by the American Angus Association. All announcements at the sale made from the auction block will take precedence over statements made in the sale book. INSURANCE: please let us know at check out.
BULL HEALTH GUARANTEE: all bulls selling are test-negative for BVD type 1 and 2. It is estimated that 1-5% of bulls being sold across the country are Persistent Infected (PI) for BVD carriers; at Teixeira Cattle Co. this percentage is ZERO. PI BVD cattle will cause first trimester abortion and create respiratory challenges in stressed calves. PI infected cattle are often difficult to pinpoint and have significant dollar impact. Consistent with our commitment to biosecurity and herd health, all bulls are sold Trich free.
BULL DEVELOPMENT GOALS: these bulls are developed to cover rugged terrain and provide multiple years of good service. We are not interested in supplying fat, overfed, soft-footed bulls that melt away in one breeding season.
HERD HEALTH: all cattle will be accompanied with proper health certificates for immediate shipment to most locations in the United States. If cattle are selling to areas requiring testing, tests will be completed before shipment can be made. Only virgin bulls sell. Any trich test requested for outof-state shipment will be paid by the seller.
ABSENTEE BUYER SUPPORT (ABS): if you are unable to attend Performance Plus, our staff will purchase bulls meeting your personal specifications and will guarantee to do this within your budgeted price. These are truly unheard-of times in the cattle market — full of both opportunity and challenge. As we navigate this shifting landscape, our focus remains steady: heart health in the cattle industry and the shared success of our customers.
Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to build relationships coming together to strengthen our industry as we compete with other protein sources. This collaboration isn’t just about genetics or market share — it’s about the future of cattle production, and the legacy we leave behind.
One of the pressing issues we’ve chosen to confront head-on is heart health in cattle. This is not just a feedlot problem — it starts long before then. We believe that as breeders, we carry a responsibility to stay ahead of these health challenges, not react to them when it›s too late. By identifying potential concerns earlier, making thoughtful genetic selections, and prioritizing sound development, we can improve both the longevity and performance of our cattle. It›s not just good business — it›s good stewardship.
For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
Psalm 50:10
Our job goes beyond the sale. It’s about helping our customers improve not only their cow herds, but also the quality and performance of cattle headed to the feed yards. That mission drives every decision we make.
While our goal is always to grow the sale, this year presented a different scenario — more heifers than bulls. But, as is often the case in this business, you take what you have and make the best of it, knowing the value is still there.
Most importantly, we want to be clear about where we stand: our faith is in the Lord, not in any one association or system. Like so many areas in this world, politics and corruption can cloud judgment and shift priorities. We believe it’s time for this industry that we love to return to honesty, integrity, and the values that built it. Putting our trust in people or systems that don’t stand with us should give us pause. We are called to walk in truth, and we will continue to do so, even when the road is narrow.
Thank you for your support, and for standing with us in faith and purpose as we continue to serve this great industry.
ALLAN AND CEE TEIXEIRA JOHN, HEATHER, NATHAN, JOSEPH AND BEN TEIXEIRA
CALVING EASE DIRECT (CED) is expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be born when he is bred to first-calf heifers.
BIRTH WEIGHT (BW) expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
WEANING WEIGHT EPD (WW) expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
YEARLING WEIGHT EPD (YW) expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
RESIDUAL AVERAGE DAILY GAIN (RADG) expressed in pounds per day, is a predictor of a sire’s genetic ability for postweaning gain in future progeny compared to that of other sires, given a constant amount of feed consumed.
DRY MATTER INTAKE (DMI) expressed in pounds per day, is a predictor of difference transmitting ability for feed intake during the postweaning phase, compared to that of other sires.
SCROTAL CIRCUMFERENCE EPD (SC) expressed in centimeters, is a predictor of the difference in transmitting ability for scrotal size compared to that of other sires.
DOCILITY (DOC) is expressed as a difference in yearling cattle temperament, with a higher value indicating more favorable docility. It predicts the average difference of progeny from a sire in comparison with another sire’s calves. In herds where temperament problems are not an issue, this expected difference would not be realized.
PULMONARY ARTERIAL PRESSURE EPD (PAP) is expressed in millimeters of Mercury (mmHg), with a lower EPD being more favorable indicating a sire should produce progeny with a lower PAP score. PAP score is an indicator of susceptibility to high altitude disease commonly experienced at elevations greater than 5,500 feet.
HEIFER PREGNANCY (HP) is a selection tool to increase the probability or chance of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant as first-calf heifers during a normal breeding season. A higher EPD is the more favorable direction and the EPD is reported in percentage units.
CALVING EASE MATERNAL (CEM) is expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf daughters. It predicts the average ease with which a sire’s daughters will calve as first-calf heifers when compared to daughters of other sires.
MATERNAL MILK EPD (MILK) is a predictor of a sire’s genetic merit for milk and mothering ability as expressed in his daughters compared to daughters of other sires. In other words, it is that part of a calf’s weaning weight attributed to milk and mothering ability.
CARCASS WEIGHT EPD (CW) expressed in pounds is a predictor of the differences in hot carcass weight of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
MARBLING EPD (MARB) expressed as a fraction of the difference in USDA marbling score of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
RIBEYE AREA EPD (RE) expressed in square inches, is a predictor of the difference in ribeye area of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
FAT THICKNESS EPD (FAT) expressed in inches, is a predictor of the differences in external fat thickness at the 12th rib (as measured between the 12th and 13th ribs) of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
*EPD definitions taken from angus.org
TEX Look Out 2038 offers a rare opportunity to lead that charge — scoring in the top 10% for BCHF resistance in the largest commercially available test — without giving up performance in other key traits.
Proven Semen Production – consistently freezes high-quality semen, with over 7,000 units collected to date. Impactful Results – his first group of tested calves showed a 10% reduction in BCHF risk.
EPDs – strong across growth, maternal, and carcass traits. This bull is a game-changer for progressive cattlemen looking to build healthier, more profitable herds — especially for feedlots and breeders ready to take proactive steps against BCHF.
Teixeira Cattle Co Genetic Ranking
BreakIng Genetic Nor ms at Teixeira Cattle Co
The genetic data compares the values for 13 economically important traits This genetic comparison is between the Sale by the Sea Bull offering and the averages for the Angus Breed. While traditional thinking has been selecting for some traits causes a negative change in other important traits After years of genetic selection, aggressive use of embryo transfer and AI, the bulls at TCC defy the genetic nor ms for negative correlation between traits
For Example:
● Birth Weight and Weaning/Yearling Growth are negatively correlated, YET the TCC Average for BW is 53% less then the Angus Average for BW EPD While the TCC Bulls are above the Angus breed Average EPD, and still the TCC Bulls are above Angus Breed average EPD for Weaning and Yearling EPD
● Growth and Ribeye Area and Marbling are negatively correlated Not at TCC, the TCC sale

While traditional thinking has been selecting for some traits causes a negative change in other important traits. After years of genetic selection, aggressive use of embryo transfer and AI, the bulls at TCC defy the genetic norms for negative correlation between traits.
For Example:
• Birth Weight and Weaning/Yearling Growth are negatively correlated, YET the TCC Average for BW is 53% less then the Angus Average for BW EPD. While the TCC Bulls are above the Angus breed Average EPD, and still the TCC Bulls are above Angus Breed average EPD for Weaning and Yearling EPD.
• Growth and Ribeye Area and Marbling are negatively correlated…Not at TCC, the TCC sale bulls are 56% higher for Marbling Score than average Angus bull. This 56% average would equate to 1/3 to 2/3 of a quality grade increase, yet still the genetics are in place to improve ribeye area and growth.
• $M is an index for Maternal Merit. The TCC sale bulls Average Index for maternal merit is 27%higher than the Angus breed Average, while contrastIng this maternal index to carcass value which is 41% ($G) higher than the average and ($C) Combined Performance Advantage of 20%.
This data summary details the genetic advantage of TCC Bulls. These bulls are outliers by being positive and above breed for all the economical traits maternal, carcass value and growth.

Providing information with the commercial cattleman in mind. Igenity testing with the development of the Teixeira Cattle Co. custom index, TCC Igenity, strives to make bull buying an easy and accurate as possible.
• First and only test designed for Angus. By Angus.
• Provides highly accurate GE-EPDs on Seedstock animals
• Includes research content to further the breed
• Commerical crossbred DNA profile sold by Neogen
• Estimates genetic merit for 16 traits
• Help select replacement heifers that inherited the best genes
Once you have received Igenity results on your females, you can use the Igenity scores to pick which of our bulls best fit in your breeding program.
Finally, commerical producers have an estimate of genetic merit they can take home and make breeding decisions with.
OUR STORY A few years ago, we joined forces with Neogen to make our cows and bulls speak the same DNA language, which allows us to create an easy-to-read, custom selection index based on Igenity DNA testing. This program is called Igenity Total Cow Connection (I-TCC). We are testing our bulls with the same program with which you can test your cows. It provides you the opportunity to better choose a bull that will ‘steer’ your cowherd in the direction of your choice. It will also assist you in finding the most profitable females in your herd. We are excited to be working alongside Igenity to provide more profitable opportunities for our customers. There will also be Igenity TCC informational catalogs available on sale day or visit our website www.teixeiracattleco.com to download the digital catalog.
On sale day, John Teixeira and Tom Hill will be available to go over I-TCC. Please feel free to ask us any questions about Igenity TCC. If you need the I-TCC full number breakdown on this set of bulls, we will have copies at registration.
The I-TCC Index numbers for all lots will be at the back of the sale book.
The entire breakown of Igenity TCC index numbers will be available on sale day at the registration desk.
If you would like to learn more about Igenity TCC, John Teixeira and Tom Hill will be available on sale day.

EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCES (EPD): are the most accurate and effective tool available for comparing genetic levels. In using EPDs, the difference between two sires’ EPDs represents the unit difference expected in the performance of their progeny. For percentile rankings or more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes visit www. simmental.org. Listed below are the units ASA EPDs are expressed in:
ALL-PURPOSE INDEX (API): Dollars per cow exposed under an all-purpose-sire scenario. (See below for more details.)
BACK FAT (BF): Inches of backfat.
BIRTH WEIGHT (BW): Pounds of birth weight.
CALVING EASE (CE): Percent of unassisted births when used on heifers.
CARCASS WEIGHT (CW): Pounds of carcass weight.
MATERNAL CALVING EASE (MCE): Percent of unassisted births in first-calving daughters.
MILK (MLK): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk.
MARBLING (MRB): Marbling score.
MATERNAL WEANING WEIGHT (MWW): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk and growth.
RIBEYE AREA (REA): Square inches of ribeye.
STAYABILITY (STAY): Percent of daughters remaining in the cowherd at 6 years of age.
TERMINAL INDEX (TI): Dollars per cow exposed under a terminal-sire scenario.
WEANING WEIGHT (WW): Pounds of weaning weight.
YEARLING WEIGHT (YW): Pounds of yearling weight.
YIELD GRADE (YG): Yield grade score.
$ INDEXES: Though EPDs allow for the comparison of genetic levels for many economically important traits, they only provide a piece of the economic puzzle. That’s where $ indexes come in. Through well- conceived, rigorous mathematical computation, $ indexes blend EPDs and economics to estimate an animal’s overall impact on your bottom line. The same technology that led to the dramatic progress in swine, poultry and dairy genetics over the last several decades was used to develop the following $ indexes:
ALL-PURPOSE INDEX (API): Evaluates sires for use on the entire cow herd (bred to both Angus first-calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield.
TERMINAL INDEX (TI): Evaluates sire for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield.
USING API AND TI: First, determine which index to use; if you’re keeping replacements use API, if not, TI. Then, just as with EPDs, zero in on the unit difference between bulls. (As described above, index units are in dollars per cow exposed.) The difference can be used to determine how much a bull is worth compared to another. For percentile rankings or more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes visit www.simmental.org.
