A green champion

Annie, the dedicated Midwife Unit Manager at Frances Perry House, has been instrumental in driving sustainable initiatives within the facility. Her passion for environmental conservation has made her a true champion of the Ramsay Cares sustainability program.

As the driving force behind the establishment of the Frances Perry House Sustainability Committee, or “Green Team,” Annie has spearheaded various eco-friendly projects. From recycling intravenous bags and blister packs to donating unused medical supplies to local animal shelters, her commitment to sustainability is evident in every initiative.

One of Annie’s most innovative ideas was to repurpose clean, unused plastic kidney dishes, forceps, and extra pots from sterile packs. These items are donated to a local childcare center, where they are used in arts and crafts activities.

When the hospital transitioned to scrubs, Annie took the initiative to find a local second-hand shop that would accept the old uniforms and send them overseas for reuse.

Annie’s unwavering dedication to sustainability has inspired her colleagues to join the Green Team and help contribute to a more eco-friendly future. Her tireless efforts and innovative ideas have made a significant impact on the hospital’s environmental footprint.
