SITE ANALYSIS

THE LOCATION:

First of all the location of the site is the old train station of tripoli Lebanon. when it was functional it would carry shipments towards three continents which are Europe, Asia, and Africa. It is known for being one of the most impoetant train station around the world historically speaking.

THE LOCATION:

In the figure on the right, we can see that the site is located next to the Mina tripoli port. By using the depth map program we can get the site’s VGA analysis that will define our entrances and whats should be visable to the public and what shouldn’t to the staff.

GRAPHS:

By using the program Grasshopper we could analize the solar radiation on our site by having existing buildings we define zones with respect to the heat map shown to the right.

Also, by getting the solid and void of the streets we can understand the urban morphology of the area and see through the future of the city.

CLIMATE:

In the figure on the right, we can see that the site is located next to the Mina tripoli port. By using the depth map program we can get the site’s VGA analysis that will define our entrances and whats should be visable to the public and what shouldn’t to the staff.

CONCEPT :

WELL, THE CONCEPT CAME FROM THE PACKAGING INSIDE THE SHIPPING CONTAINER

……………………………………………….

“CONTAINMENT AND CONNECTIVITY”

WHERE THE FORM WILL SHOW BOUNDARIES AROUND THE EXISTING BUILDINGS AND ITS DERIVATIVES………….

DESIGN PROCESS:

1. DEFINING ZONES

2. CREATING CONNECTIONS

3. EXTRUDE TOWERS (FROM VGA)

4. RETRIEVING THE CONCEPT

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

After deciding what to do based on the site analysis, concept, and design process this is how it looks. the image can describe how the structure it self integrates with the surroundings and its existing buildings. where here we have a smal sneak peak to the design elements and the distribution of the greenary.

3D ZONING:

THE BUILDING IS DIVIDED INTO 5 MAIN ZONES WHICH ARE THE : MUSEUM, RETAILS, MTC BOARD, THE REPRESENTITIVES, AND THE EXHIBITION.

WITH THE INTEGRATION WITH THE OLD EXISTING BUILDING AND ALSO THE PROFOUNDED TRAINS WITH ITS TRACKS

ELEVATION:

THE MAIN ELEVATION OF THE BUILDING HAS BEEN DESIGNED BY THE USE OF THE PROGRAM GRASSHOPPER TO GET THE SOLAR RADIATION STUDY AND SEE WHERE ARE THE AREAS THAT NEEDED TO BE TAKEN IN TO CONSIDERATION FOR THE INSTALLATIONS OF LOUVERS.

TREES IS THE KEY FOR THAT AND ALSO FOR THE MAIN TOWERS THERE IS NEW BIM PRODUCT THAT I USED AND EXPLAINED IN THE NEXT TWO PAGES.

LOUVERS STUDY:

MASTER PLAN:

The master plan can help us see how the building is connected with the roads. As definition for the entrances.
