Message From RI President 2022-23 Dear Fellow Rotary Leaders As we embark on a new year of service, let us take the opportunity to reflect upon the gift of our membership in Rotary.

As club and district leaders, you have such an important role to play. You can do so much to help create club experiences that are welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable for each and every memberand you can extend that same warmth and belonging to every participant who wishes to engage with our clubs.

Over and over our surveys find that member comfort and care is the single greatest driver of member satisfaction and our most powerful tool in driving members retention.

So, we need to put a special emphasis on membership care and belonging. And that work begins with listening. We need to understand why our members took the big leap and joined us-and we need to know what they expect from us. What do they want out of their Rotary involvement and what we can do to help them get more out of their Rotary experience?

We all feel that impact the Rotary service and Rotary values have on us … now it’s our opportunity to share that feeling with others. This is a year to imagine Rotary be envisioning a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing we can make a difference. We don’t imagine yesterday, we imagine tomorrow.

We imagine a world without polio, with clean water for everyone. We imagine a world free of disease and where every child learns to read. We imagine kindness, hope, love, and peace.

Each of you has assumed important responsibilities as a member of Rotary and I thank you for your hard work. You have made a commitment to help grow Rotary, to adapt to the digital future and to make Rotary more appealing to future generations.

Your good work will help us serve our communities and help Rotary thrive so we can imagine Rotary.

Message From District Governor 3292 Dear Fellow Rotarians My best wishes and hearty congratulations to all Rotarians, Rotaractors & Interactors for the Rotary Year 2022-2023.

We have just now completed Rotary Year 2021-2022. Rotary International, our District 3292 and Rotary Clubs have done our best to the communities by providing humanitarian services, working in partnership with the Government of Nepal and Local Authorities to serve the communities at times of global crisis.

We believe in Rotary’s Four Way Test, which teaches us that we as Rotarians believe in true and fair actions which will bring goodwill and will be beneficial to all concerned. Rotary’s Core Values: Fellowship, Diversity, Leadership, Service and above all Integrity must guide each and every Rotarian.

Working for Rotary should be passion and fun, and should not have stress and pressure. Then only we can enjoy Rotary. Look around for people to work together and Rotary gives us that opportunity to do service with fellowship. Sometimes people may ask which part or segment of Rotary we like.

Our answer should always be we like Rotary in entirety and not one particular portion.

2022-2023 is a special year for Rotary International as we all are going to work under the dynamic leadership of Jennifer Jones, first female President in 117 years of Rotary International history to

achieve the targets set for 2022-2023.

Friends more than fifty years ago, one popular song was recorded that included this beautiful line: You may say I’m a dreamer But I’m not the only one.

Friends, we all have dreams, but acting on them is a choice. And it becomes our responsibility to make these dreams a reality. Let us imagine a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.

With above vision, Rotary International President Jennifer Jones has given the theme “Imagine Rotary” for the year 2022-2023. Our district has our Theme “Together for a better world”.

By focusing on our strategic plan and expands our reach by engaging the Family of Rotary at every age, gender and culture to create lasting change, we can see Rotary increases our impact. We have

to give more emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion to achieve growth in female membership and members under the age of forty however without losing the sight of membership retention. We also should work for girl child education leading to women empowerment.

All these are achievable with all of us working as a TEAM, team is just not a group of people working together, in reality it is a group of people trusting each other.

Therefore, Friends let us all work together to transform our dreams into reality by serving the communities.

Message From President 2022-23 Greetings Fellow Rotarians, First, I would like to congratulate Rtn. Sachin Awale for successfully completing his Presidency for the year 2021-22. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every Rotarian in RC Kathmandu Height for carrying out the critical tasks needed to our club in these challenging times. Each of you is an extraordinary example of commitment, professionalism and teamwork.

I am honored to be the President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height for the year 2022-23. It is such a dynamic and vibrant club that it gives me great pleasure to serve in this capacity. I as a President would like to work with every individual member in projects, meeting and organize events so that we can better understand each other and make differences.

Can you imagine living in a world where everyone measures their actions via the Four-Way Test of Rotary? A world where trust, respect for one another, sharing, relationships, fairness, and providing beneficial services, serve as the compass for success. Rotarians can imagine such a world.

We can all be proud of our ability to adapt and unite and continue to live our motto each day: Service Above Self. We have continued to deliver support to the most vulnerable in our communities, as well as address the many additional needs that have surfaced due to different situations.

I will follow in the footsteps of CP and IPP of our club who have each been exceptional examples of service and leadership. Likewise, I am privileged to have an incredible team of professionals and community leaders currently serving with me on the Board of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height, who are each example of living up to the organization’s aspiration to put service above self.

As our RI President Jennifer Jones formulated 22/23 theme “imagine Rotary, yes “It is our offer of hands-on service, personal growth, leadership development, and lifelong friendships that creates purpose and passion,”. Imagine a world that deserves our best where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.

Although we all have dreams, acting on them is a choice we make. When our organization Rotary dreams about big things like ending polio and creating peace, it becomes our responsibility to make them happen. “We don’t imagine yesterday, we imagine tomorrow.”

Finally, with a sense of great responsibility and hope, I ask all of you to work with me, starting now and for many years to come, in building on RCKH's excellence, deepening the mutual support of this extraordinary world, and continuing to take that leadership out into the world.

Message From Charter President Let me first congratulate my Successor Rtn. Sachin Awale for shouldering the responsibility as a President for RY 2021-22. We as a team made remarkable and exceptional efforts in "Serve to Change Lives". I would like to congratulate entire board members and Rotarians of Kathmandu Height for this amazing Rotary Journey in the year 2021-22.

It is now time for the Emblem of Rotary to make another new rotation and convey my best regards to President Rtn. Rajaram Joshi and his team for a wonderful and engaging Rota Year 2022-23. I strongly believe we would be working as a TEAM as we have been working from our Charter year.

Let's continue with what we have been doing with service projects like Girl child education, environment protection, disaster preparedness, youth empowerment and engagement, literacy and basic education.

Our club has already been able to make a mark in Rotary District 3292 as one of the dynamic clubs with our strong bond of friendship, fellowship and team work among our club members. We keep on striving for more collaboration and partnership with Rotary clubs of our districts and International Rotary clubs and other organizations beyond.

I would like to thank all our partners, Rotary Districts and all the helping hands for their generous support and contributions to make our journey in Rotary a very fruitful one.

Message From IPP

Dear Fellow Rotarians, Namaste Jojolapa and Warm Greetings !!!!

Yes we did it; we contributed and joined hands to Serve Change Lives in the Year 2021-22. At times, we feel "It was just yesterday, I took over the charge of President for Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height then, now the year has completed with a lots of experiences."

A year has passed, inheriting the roles and responsibilities handed over by the previous tenure that had already excelled par was a herculean task to withstand the legacy and pride of club. With lots of hope and expectations from all sides to lead the club to achieve great new heights was thrust on the shoulder. The challenge was not with any others but own self, the thirst of being better than previous one, the aspirations for serving more, to explore more new horizons and all were waiting at the beginning. With many visions in eyes, desires in my heart, the tenure started.

I cannot stay calm and silent without thanking all the TEAM members who made a great contribution to make this Rotary Year a great success. Any club/ organization is a zeal composite of team, leaders, well-wishers and so, where President is just a driver to lead the club to its path. Today, it is a matter of great satisfaction for me to witness all those dreams and visions turning into reality. The year passed so fast in a single swift. Last but not the least I would like to take this opportunity to thank each members for all the love and immense support you extend to me and my club, Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height throughout the year.

Rotary is all about joining hands for the better world by fellowship through service, and service above self, embracing Rotary four way test made a year successful one and now, would like to wish our new President Rtn. Rajaram Joshi and his team best wishes for Rotary year 2022-23.

Imagine Rotary, the new theme under leadership of Rotary International President Jennifer Jones already started and President Rtn. Rajaram Joshi already took charge of Presidency with his new board. I would like to wish a great success for entire team and also congratulate all fellow members on the occasion of our Third Charter Day to grace on August 03, 2022.

Message From President Elect Dear All, Namaste! Just a joyous journey under the leadership of two promising Rotarians Samir Nepal

and Sachin Awale for the club, we are here in the Rota year 2022-23. This year too, we have Rtn. Rajaram Joshi as our Club Leader and I am confident that we shall grow stronger as a team and an individual under his leadership. He brings long years of experience working with the Rotaract clubs of; undertaking different projects and we acknowledge his dedication and team-building attitude.

This Rota year 2022-23 also, we will continue with our service projects focusing in the girls

education, sanitation and hygiene, women empowerment with the livelihood promotion, disaster preparedness and response and much more in collaboration with the other rotary clubs of Rotary District 3292 , sponsors and the well wishers. We shall try touching lives of people in the community we work for with the deeper imagination and making it happen with all our efforts together. We are delighted to have Rtn. Rajaram Joshi as the Club’s President and together under his leadership we shall do our all the best . Activities on July 16, 2022 Rtn. Shree Krishna Dhital initiated the Tree Plantation project last year and it is the continuation of the same project this year

also. A total of 60 plants were planted around the

premises

of

Shree

Mahendragram

Secondary School jointly by RCKH members, Interactors, Teachers and family members

Rtn. Sumeera Shrestha, PE shared the contribution received from WHR and WFF for Menstrual Hygiene Kit with the theme of

“Blood

Normal”.

The

use

of

environment friendly, hygienic, washable and

reusable

sanitary

pads

was

demonstrated by her. Those menstrual hygiene kits will be distributed among all the girl students from class 5 to 12.

Menstrual Hygiene Program Rotary Club of Kathmandu height in support of Women for Human rights Single Women group ( WHR ) and Women for Freedom ( WFF) supported 105 hygiene kits to students of Mahendra Gram school, Sudal Bhaktapur. The hygiene kit contained sanitary pad, soap, and panties for the girls. The brief orientation about menstrual hygiene was given by Rtn. Sumeera Shrestha , president elect of WHR and the distribution was carried on by the team.

Scholarship Program Shree Mahendra Gram Secondary School, Sudal Bhaktapur 1. Student Name: Prakriti Rai Prakriti Rai, the student of Shree Mahendra Gram Secondary School, studies in class 8. She is the daughter of Kanchan Rai and Prem Bahadur Rai. She has three children, two daughters and one son. Prakriti is the youngest one among three children. She lives in Tathali-9, Changunarayan, Bhaktapur.

She is 14 years old. Her aim is to be a Air Hostess.

2. Student Name: Surya Thapa Magar Surya Thapa Magar, the student of Shree Mahendra Gram School studies in class 8. She is the daughter of Aasika Thapa Magar and Late Dinesh Thapa Magar. She lives in Jitpur-7 Changunarayan, Bhaktapur with her mother, grandmother, grandfather and one young brother. She is 14 years old. Her mother is a shopkeeper. Her aim is to be a Social Worker.

3. Student Name: Rasmi Shrestha Rasmi Shrestha, the student of Shree Mahendra Gram Secondary School, studies in class 6. She is the daughter of Muna Shrestha and Late Radhe Shyam Shrestha. She lives in Jitpur-8, Changunarayan, Bhaktapur with her grandmother, along with her brother, aunt, uncle and their daughters. She is taken care by her grandmother. She is 13 years old. Her aim is to be a pilot.

Scholarship Program 4. Student Name: Arshu Magar Arshu Magar, the student of Shree Mahendra Gram Secondary School, studies in class L.K.G. She is a daughter of Babita Magar and Aashish Magar. She lives in Sudal-8, Changunarayan, Bhaktapur with her grandmother (maternal uncle’s house) Tara Budhathoki. Her grandmother has no any proper work. Arshu is just 4 years old and there is no one to take care of her except her grandmother. She wants to become a pilot in her future.

5. Student Name: Prinsha Giri Prinsha Giri, the student of Shree Mahendra Gram Secondary School, studies in class 3. She is the daughter of Pabitra Giri and Rabin Giri. She lives in Bidol Phat, Changunarayan, Bhaktapur with her grandmother.

1st Board Meeting

The 1st Board Meeting of RCKH was held on 30 July, 22 hosted by CP Rtn. Samir Nepal at Hunger Hub, New Baneshwor with our board members. We discussed about our 3rd Installation Ceremony and other agendas for the upcoming events.

RSK Shelter Acquiring skills, knowledge and practices for RSK Model and Demo shelter useful for emergency shelter set up. RSK is a bamboo made shelter as a defined structural component combined with tarpaulin fixing tricks! Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height with technical support from RSK Shelter and Nepal Red Cross Society organized training on the construction of Emergency RSK shelter on 30th July 2022. The program was done in support of the Rotaract club of Kathmandu mid-town.
