A history of hospitality An artistic statement of Khmer, Art Deco and French style, the Hotel Le Royal originally welcomed its first guests in 1929.

It reopened as Raffles Hotel Le Royal after a sympathetic extension and refurbishment in 1997. To protect the hotel’s natural heritage, local artisans were commissioned to create painted ceilings, decorative beaten copper crests and outdoor sculptures.

Raffles is built around a central private courtyard with two swimming pools surrounded by frangipani-lined tropical gardens.

Raffles is very much part of the history of Phnom Penh. Its walls are adorned with photos capturing much of that history, and yet the hotel welcomes, as it has always done, travellers to this oasis in bustling Phnom Penh.

Raffles is at the heart of the city, only 30 minutes’ drive from Phnom Penh International Airport, 5 minutes from Mekong River Cruise wharf and within easy access of the city’s attractions such as the Royal Palace, Central Market, Russian Market and riverfront walk.

Restaurant Le Royal Restaurant Le Royal keeps alive the traditional dining room experience with a brilliant hand painted ceiling created by royal artist Assasax, and dramatic chandeliers. It is one of the few restaurants in the world that serves Royal Khmer and modern western cuisine with signature gueridon service. Raffles Weekend Brunch is not to be missed with free flow French champagne and cocktails.

Elephant Bar A visit to Phnom Penh is not complete without a visit to the famous Elephant Bar, an institution in the city and where the famous Raffles afternoon tea is served. The bar has a full range of wines, beers and spirits including one of Asia’s largest selections of gin with over 40 different gins.

Conservatory/ The Writers Bar Enjoy traditional Raffles afternoon tea or light refreshments while enjoying the historic photos of the hotel and city.

Poolside Terrace Located right beside the sanctuary of the swimming pool the poolside terrace is the ideal place to relax in the afternoon sun on in the shared of the fragrant frangipani trees. Cool off with chilled wines, beers and tropical cocktails which are served with tapas and light meals served at your sun lounge.
