This mini-marathon, that was a result of compounding requests from the community, was the first of its kind event organized in the history of Abu Road. The objective of the marathon was to sensitize the participants about the various health issues and to bring awareness about the importance of proper medical treatment of these conditions. Over 500 enthusiastic women from local villages & Abu Road participated in this event. Of these, about seventy were from tribal families near Abu Road. And surprisingly, 8 of them won prizes in top 20. Although their families were reluctant to the idea of their participation in marathon but they did so with full enthusiasm. The RM through the dedicated cooperation of the Sports Wing of the Brahma Kumaris organized this magnanimous event which was also co sponsored by the Art of Living parivar of the Abu Road. Their healthy cooperation in the community event proved quite fruitful in RM’s effort of awakening the women to their well – being and good health.
