All About Elements
In any electric radiator or towel rail, element choice is an extremely important factor. We offer a range of element options so that you can find a solution to suit your requirements. Wherever possible we offer a choice of elements for our designs, from fully connected Wi-Fi element and weekly programmable elements to simple on off versions. Select the option you want, each product has its own default stock option, alternatives will be available on a made to order basis.
SMART Controllers are Wi-Fi connected options, offering full control via an app, and are Ecodesign compliant for efficient operation. Connected products offer additional levels of control over TIMER Controllers and have the ability to learn and adapt the programme to reflect your daily routine.

Burnished & Industrial Finishes
Our electric cast iron radiators are available in beautiful burnished and industrial finishes. The Burnished finish is achieved via tumbling the sections in a ceramic media, and then lightly buffing the sections on a polishing wheel. The Industrial finish is achieved by tumbling the sections in this same ceramic media, but then left unlacquered for a short while to patina, before we lacquer the sections to seal the finish.

Element & Wire Colour Options
Our cast iron elements can be supplied in one of 10 colours (shown below), and you can also select your preferred cable colour. The standard colour of the element and cable supplied is white. All elements are IPx4, Class 11.

Our standard cable colour is white. You can select either light grey or black, which could extend your lead time by up to 3 weeks.
Branded Paints
We are able to offer our electric cast iron radiators in any one of Farrow & Ball's® or Little Greene's® stunning range of quality paints, a perfect match for any heritage property. They add a classic high quality finish to your radiator that will perfectly match your chosen colour. We only use genuine Farrow & Ball® or Little Greene® paints. For Farrow & Ball® we use their Estate Eggshell (20% sheen), and for Little Greene®, we use their Tom's Oil Eggshell (15% gloss).
The process is very straightforward, simply specify the colour name and reference number along with the radiator range and size and we will provide you with a quotation. Once approved we will order the paint and produce your radiators. Please do note that (especially with Little Greene®) the reference number is extremely important. Little Greene’s palette of 196 colours includes the ‘Colour Scales’ which offer graduated shades from the same family of pigments. Therefore, similar names have been given, with a colour number for each.

How much heat?
We always recommend you choose radiators with a higher output than required, as you can always turn them down & have the reassurance of additional heat in really cold spells.
How is heat output measured?
There are two recognised measurements for heat output; BTU’s (British Thermal Unit) and Watts. As this brochure is offering Electric only products you will find Watts listed in the pricing table by each radiator or towel rail.
How can I find out what heat outputs I need?
Your installer should be able to confirm the exact requirements for each of your rooms, but you can also visit our website (theradiatorcompany.co.uk) and use our online heat calculator as a guide.

Colour Options
Many of our designs are available in a large selection of RAL colours (188 internationally recognised paint colours) and Special Finishes. Please be aware that certain RAL colours are subject to availability and if there are any issues with supply we will contact you to discuss alternatives If you would like a copy of our RAL or Special Finish chart please contact us on 01342 302250. Please note that due to the printing process and manufacturing tolerances, the colour (including white) of a finished radiator may vary slightly from the colours represented in the brochure and from one colour group to another, as well as from our Special Finish & RAL charts. It should also be noted that if the same type of radiators are ordered and produced, they may also differ in finished colour from any previously ordered.

Finishes and Painted Cast Iron
It should be noted that due to the production process colours can vary by +/- 5 to 10% from samples provided and between radiators ordered in the same colour at different times. All painted cast iron radiators will be checked and tested prior to despatch. Care must be taken when handling painted cast iron radiators on-site to avoid damaging the finish. Cast iron radiators will be supplied with a small bottle of touch up paint in case of damage to the finish during installation, however, it should be noted that this may vary slightly from the original finish. As a result of the casting process, cast iron radiators have a rough surface finish with small imperfections which will show after the painting process.

Instructions
The electric radiator or towel rail must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with the standards in force.
Always fix the electric radiator or towel rail to the wall as per the assembly instructions provided with each product.
When installing an electric towel rail, the IEC 60364-7-701 resolution according to the edition in force, must be complied with. The power supply for the towel rail should be an omnipolar switch, with at least 3 mm of distance between contacts. When installing in bathrooms or in shower-rooms, the appliance should be installed in such a way to avoid the switch and other controls to be reached by people using the bath or the shower. (see Fig. A )
Electric radiators must not be installed immediately beneath a fixed current outlet.
Take utmost care while installing electric radiators and towel rails to avoid damaging the electronic thermostat and the connecting cable.

Delivery
Please note that many of our factories close for 2–4 weeks during the holiday periods of July/August and December. This may extend the delivery period quoted for non stock made to order items ordered during July/August & December/January. We will confirm the expected delivery date on our order acknowledgement at the time of order. Unfortunately, delivery to the north of Scotland / Offshore Islands may take longer due to the distances involved . Deliveries will be made to the nearest hard standing area.
