The Rotaract Club of Uva Wellassa University- Badulla takes great pride in organizing one of their signature projects every year – Hill Spree This project has become a cornerstone for the club, allowing Rotaractors around the country to connect with people, nature, and each other Located in Badulla, surrounded by a number of picturesque mountain ranges, the Uva Wellassa University provides the perfect backdrop for this exciting project
The Hill Spree is not just an ordinary hike or camping event; it is an experience that allows participants to disconnect from the outer world and reconnect with the beauty of nature This year, the project started as a fellowship event, followed by the hill country visit, and the hike or camping is organized on a mountain top or a picturesque location around Badulla.

The Rotaractors organize and manage the entire project, from collecting firewood to lighting a fire, preparing meals, and engaging in fun and creative activities Sing-alongs, star gazing, and hot beverages around the fire create a different experience for the participants, setting everlasting memories about each and every one in their hearts
With more than ten hikes and camping events organized in different mountain ranges around Badulla, the project has become a hub for different clubs around the country to collaborate and develop fellowship with each other The Hill Spree opens up a plethora of wonderful options for young future leaders; Rotaractors of the country to strengthen the bond between them, growing their capacity to work together to find sustainable solutions together
Even amidst the pandemic, Hill Spree was held on the top of Bambaragala mountain with the participation of more than 75 participants, maintaining the required standards The Rotaract Club of Uva Wellassa University-Badulla has truly set an example for the rest of the world with their Hill Spree project It not only allows people to connect with nature but also promotes the idea of appreciating the nature and working together for a better future. The project is a testimony to the club's dedication to enhancing social bonds and appreciating the vast and unexplored nature around us
