INCEPTION, marking the dawn of a brand new era for the Rotaract club of KDU, The orientation for the year was held on 08022023 at the Main Auditorium, FGS, KDU Ratmalana with the main focus of introducing the new intake, intake 40 of the university to the world of Rotaract The project was co- chaired by our two club service directors and membership development director Rtr Ranidi Lokugamhewa, Rtr Himan Michael and Rtr Anagi Gunasekera
We kicked off the event by providing an overview of Rotaract and specifically highlighting the unique operations of the Rotaract Club of KDU, which is the only university club in the district with a military background During the event, we showcased various presentations and videos of our club's signature projects. However, one of the most important aspects of the event was the introductory video that we created for our Board of Directors and Executive Committee. This video helped the new members get to know the key leaders of our club and understand their roles and responsibilities
One of the highlights of the orientation was our guest speaker, RtrPP Sathma Jayasinghe She shared her experiences and insights on how to be an effective leader and make a difference in the community emiere of one of the most eagerly anticipated films, AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER which took place on December 16th at the Savoy 3D Cinema Wellawatte The primary goal of this endeavor was to raise additional money for the club.

To top off an amazing event, we had our talented Rotaractors perform dance and singing items that had everyone tapping their toes to the beat And before we knew it, everyone was up on their feet dancing and having a blast to the lively music played by the KDU Cadet Beige Band It was a fun and memorable way to end the event.
We were able to sell a lot of tickets since it was available to everyone even outside of Rotaract, and the fact that we chose to show it on the day it was released added to its attraction This initiative was a huge success, and the evening of nostalgia that it inspired was wonderful as it brought back a lot of memories for us.
