02 Professional Works
My experience spans both corporate and boutique firm settings, encompassing a wide array of project types.
I am a seasoned design professional with a unique and versatile skill-set. I hold a master’s in architecture, and am a licensed interior designer. My undergraduate experience in human behavior and social science form the basis for my design ethos. My passion lies at the intersection of all three disciplines, along with a strong belief that innovation happens when all aspects are considered.
I’ve gained diverse experience in both boutique and corporate design firms, working on a wide range of project types. With a strong design awareness and a proven ability to attract clients, I bring a mature perspective along with fresh insights to the design process.
My talent lies in translating design concepts into precise construction documents and effectively coordinating with consultants, which positions me to contribute immediately to the success of any project. I am deeply committed to innovative and functional design, relishing the challenge of problem-solving and seamlessly blending beauty and utility within each space.
I’m deeply committed to innovative and functional design, always seeking to blend beauty and utility. My successful track record includes managing my own firm with national and international projects featured in television and print. I am LEED certified, actively involved in professional organizations, and hold leadership roles within my community, including serving as the President of the Young Women’s organization in my local church congregation.

Though incongruent with my preferred design aesthetic, Targa demonstrates my project coordination abilities. I drew up the initial space plans to land the project, and managed construction documents (and BIM model) from the beginning of the project all the way through occupancy and completion.
Model, plans and renderings all done in Revit.
Additional Info: Structure rated and built to withstand accidental blasts from adjacent plant site.

Educational Works
The design build process gave me a working knowledge of how materials fit together and empowered me with the ability to execute design ideas.
In this design build scenario, we spent one semester designing the shade structure, and the next semester converting drawings into habitable space.
In a design build scenario, students spend the semester converting drawings into habitable space.
As the structure rose, so did a community of cohorts, able to boast hands-on experience in construction, budget management, and successful project delivery. The galvanized steel structure was designed one semester and built the next; receiving an Honorable Mention from the Keep Houston Beautiful Project in 2015.
In addition to welding, wood framing, and pouring concrete, the team wrote specifications, made working drawings and produced project management documents.
The shade structure project in Houston, Texas, was completed in 2016.

CASA HOUSTON - STUDY ABROAD
University of Houston Project Model
My study abroad experience in Spain, has profoundly impacted my world outlook, education and life.
Not a day goes by that I haven’t thought about the surroundings, people and culture I experienced in Spain during my studies there.
As a non-traditional student, leaving my kids for one month was one of the hardest things I have ever done. But I was reminded of my love for travel while I was away from them, and discovered you cannot understand a space without being there in person. Pictures are no substitute for experiencing a place.
Prior to applying to the architecture program, I took a tour of the school and was able to meet a few students and professors at a reception. I remember standing at the base of the staircase in the Gerald D. Hines building and having a strong impression that “this would be hard.” I did not know what hard would be in that particular instant, but I have thought about that moment many times since as things have been tough along the way. There were 15 people who started in my incoming Level I graduate class. There are only four of us left (five if you count the one who is finishing up in Austria).
Architecture school educates as well as sifts through those that want it the most. There were times I worried I might be one of them. But not once did I consider leaving. Architecture is still my passion. And the reasons that brought me to the field originally are still important to me today.

04 Entrepreneurial Works
Entrepreneurial spirit is fueled by an unwavering passion for innovative design.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of exploring the boundaries of creativity and function, pushing the envelope to create solutions that not only meet the demands of the present but also shape the possibilities of the future.
From early in my career, I have been drawn to projects that demanded inventive thinking and a deep understanding of user experience. My work is driven by a commitment to melding form and function, resulting in designs that are both aesthetically captivating and highly practical. I have consistently sought out opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrating cutting-edge technologies, materials, and design principles to craft products and experiences that resonate with end-users.
I continually look for projects that allow me to demonstrate my unwavering commitment to push the boundaries of conventional thinking and my deepseated passion for creating meaningful, user-centric solutions; consistently striving to make the world a more aesthetically pleasing and functional place.

Year: 2014
Location: Bountiful, Utah
This kitchen remodel in Utah was an update for a couple whose family dynamic had shifted from young kids at home to empty nester’s. They needed space accommodate their growing family gatherings, and also be durable with “bullet proof” finishes to withstand their sixteen grandchildren. The ceiling was raised and a wall set back to create a more functional flow for visitors.
(Opposite Page) This 1952 home was remodeled for an episode on an A&E Television show. The 1900 square foot rambler was taken down to the studs and then outfitted with up-todate finishes, and a reworked floor plan able to accommodate a more modern lifestyle.
Creative Works
Creativity is a constant companion, not limited by the clock or my field.
Creativity seeps into everything.
Whether I am making a model of a city, planning an event, creating a social media post, or painting a building after an inspiring trip abroad; creativity is the spark that lights up my life, and makes me who I am.
City as Machine was a mash up of my new found welding skills (learned in previous year’s design build program) and the studio assignment to create a scale depiction of a futuristic city.
City as Machine focuses on an open pit mine; one of the largest excavated holes on earth. Abandoned long ago, the mine’s shell is now filled with discarded mining parts and machinery.
The project contemplates a metamorphosis whereby a thriving metropolis emerges from the industrial detritus left behind. This innovative cityscape harnesses the massive scale of the mine’s equipment to house its citizens, businesses, and appurtenant public gathering places.
Precedents include: Walter Jonas’s Intrapolis, Pieter Bruegel’s Tower of Babel, Constant’s New Babylon, and the Roman Colosseum.
