Modular Arts patterned drywall product is commonly seen in today’s design projects. But in 2005, the product was quite innovative, and was the talk of the town. Especially in Missoula Montana.

This 1952 home was remodeled for an episode on an A&E Television show. The 1900 SF rambler was taken down to the studs and then outfitted with up-to-date finishes.

This kitchen remodel in Utah was an update for a couple whose family dynamic had shifted from young kids at home to empty nester’s.
They needed a space to accommodate their growing family gatherings, and also be durable with “bullet proof” finishes to withstand their sixteen grandchildren. Theurer Creative, Completed in 2014
As part of the design committee for the AIA 2020 Gala, I created the concept of cloud centerpieces. The gala was to be held at the Lone Star Flight Museum, in the same room as the planes.
When Covid 19 cancelled the gala, the idea was shelved until 2023 when a private event was held in an airplane hangar, and the cloud centerpieces were the perfect touch. Theurer Creative, 2023.
About A Box boasts space for all the daily functions of life within the constraints of a 10’ x 9’ space.
Though internal space is small and compact, the design incorporates large doors that when open, extend the living area to the outside.

Competition entry for the North Wall of an architecture firm. Image left is zoomed in portion of image on next page.
Things you should know about the firm: They have a tradition of planting trees every year. Every employee receives a number when they are hired.
The North Wall competition entry tells a story of the architecture firm’s history, and shows how they have kept up with with technology.
The firm started in the days of hand drafting and now uses VR to communicate design ideas.

Central Brazoria County Business Park is a 120 acre landscaped/wooded campus with approximately 400,000 sf of commercial space. Originally a heart research facility, there were endless dark hallways with no natural light. Current users were continually having problems with wayfinding.
We came up with a simple wayfinding solution based on color and stair locations in the building, and became the first project in the United States to specify blue moss.

Casa Houston is a satelite campus designed to house the University of Houston architecture program in Madrid, Spain. Located on an infill site in Barrio de las Tetras, Casa Houston’s modern facade is juxtaposed with the historic architecture of old Madrid.
The program includes: educational facilities, dormitories for fourteen students, a gallery, apartments for two faculty members, a garden and a cafe open to the public.

City as Machine is an abstract depiction of a futuristic city, and is a study in scale. Also an exercise in harnessing my newly learned welding skills learned in the previous semester’s design build.

LOBBY AND CUSTOMER INTERFACE CENTER Finishes
Finishes and materials were selected as a nod to the near-by Mississippi River and associated alluvial maps. The intent is to use flowing organic shapes in plans and finishes, use local materials and sources, and create a home away from home for employees who keep the plant running around the clock.

Whether I am making a model of a city, planning an event, creating a social media post, or painting a building after an inspiring trip abroad; creativity is the spark that lights up my life, and makes me who I am.
From early in my career, I have been drawn to projects that demanded inventive thinking and a deep understanding of user experience. My work is driven by a commitment to melding form and function, resulting in designs that are both aesthetically captivating and highly practical. I have consistently sought out opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrating cutting-edge technologies, materials, and design principles to craft products and experiences that resonate with end-users AI Rendering. 2023.
