IAS Exam Eligibility Age Criteria Qualification Attempts


What is IAS Exam  If someone says he is going to give IAS Exam then he is wrong it is a civil service examination. In Which IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS includes 24 services selection done by this examination

 This exam was conducted by UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission which is a constitutional body.

 DM, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and department head all are IAS department secretary, Prime Minister Secretary, etc. IPS Cadre types of people became an officer in Police these all positions are filled with UPSC Exam


Age Criteria  Age Criteria Means you are eligible to fill the form or not According to category wise age group distributed which are as follows:  If a candidate belongs to the General Category then he can able to fill form between age 21st to 32nd year.  If a candidate belongs to the OBC category then he can able to fill form between age 21st to 35th year.  If a candidate belongs to Economic Weaker Section Category then he can able to fill form between age 21st to 32nd year.  If a candidate belongs to SC / ST Category then he can able to fill form between age 21st to 37th year  If a candidate is Physically disabled / Physically Challenged then he can able to fill form between age 21st to 42nd year.


Qualification  To apply this job you just only hold a graduate degree, having no bar of percentage just only qualify your graduation by securing minimum passing marks.  It doesn't matter on which subject you pass your graduation, may be you pass your graduation from medical, engineering, accounts, B.A, B.SC you are eligible to fill this form,  You only need just a graduation degree from recognized university or college.

 Even those students who in the final year of graduation they are also eligible to fill this form



Number of Attempts  Attempts mean how many times you are able to give this exam. It’s totally depends upon on which category you belong which are as follows :  For General candidate, the maximum number of attempts is only 6  For OBC candidate maximum number of attempts is only 9  For SC / ST candidate there is no bar on attempts until his/her age not exceed more than 37 years

The Pattern of Exam  The exam is distributed in the three-tier exam process, consist of preliminary exams, then main exams, and then interview round.
