What is an IAS Exam, Eligibility for IAS Exam, Age Criteria, Qualification If someone says he is going to give IAS Exam then he is wrong it is a civil service examination. In Which IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS includes 24 services selection done by this examination. This exam was conducted by UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission which is a constitutional body.

It doesn't matter on which subject you pass your graduation, maybe you pass your graduation from medical, engineering, accounts, B.A, B.SC you are eligible to fill this form, only need just a graduation degree from recognized university or college.

Even those students who in the final year of graduation they are also eligible to fill this form

Citizenship: Those applying for UPSC exams Candidate must be a citizen of India. For IAS or IPS Post candidate must be a citizen of India.but other than services such as IFS, IRS, etc. Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan migrate can be able to apply.

Attempts: Attempts mean how many times you are able to give this exam. It’s totally depends upon on which category you belong which are as follows For General candidate, the maximum number of attempts is only 6 For OBC candidate maximum number of attempts is only 9 For SC / ST candidate there is no bar on attempts until his/her age not exceed more than 37 years

The Pattern of Exam: The exam is distributed in the three-tier exam process, consist of preliminary exams, then main exams, and then interview round.

Prelims Exam Consist of two Papers one is CSAT duration of Paper is 2 hr and consists of 200 Marks which is only qualifying nature and the other is General Studies paper duration of 2 hours and consists of 200 Marks. You can adapt the language according to your comfort zone either English or Hindi to appear on the exam.

Once you qualified your prelims exam then you are eligible to give the mains exam. After appearing in main exams once you qualified your mains exams you are eligible to give interview round.

In the final selection, merit was made according to the number of marks secured in Mains Exam and Interview Round, marks of the Prelims exam is not added.
