WHAT IS A LEARNING ORGANISATION – LEARNING BRAND? A Learning Organisation – Learning Brand is an organisation that uses anticipated processes to enable best use of employee potential, offering working environments that enable personal and professional growth. Only satisfied employees can best devote themselves to working in companies and performing their work faster, more effectively and better, which is reflected in better results, mitigated fluctuation and absenteeism. These are all factors that help improve company operating results.

p

THE CURRENT MARKET SITUATION AND WHY LEARNING ORGANISATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL? The 21st century requires the development of new knowledge and higher levels of qualification because new technology, new lifestyles and ways of functioning, new market requirements, and the like require it. Knowledge is getting older faster and needs constant upgrading. It is essential to invest in the development of individual knowledge at all stages of life to ensure the progress of individuals, economy and society. The development of individuals in an organisation gives the organisation competitive advantage. It is thus, knowledge that endows competitive advantage and enables economic development of not only individual organisations, but also domestically and globally. Knowledge held by employees is priceless to organisations, as people in organisations are those who create added value. An organisation can have the best technology, machinery and processes, but if its employees are not trained to operate them, there will be no success. Employee knowledge and skills give organisations not only competitive advantage, but also better results, better working climates and, consequently, higher profit.

p

WHAT IS THE LEARNING BRAND WORK PROCESS/METHOD? With the purpose of establishing processes in organisations to improve work, make it easier and, at the same time, enable individuals to be rewarded, Life Learning Academia (LLA) has prepared a guided work process/ procedure/method, enabling organisations to become Learning Organisations. The work process/method is called the Learning Brand. This is an applied guided work process/method used by organisations to supplement existing processes and/or establish new ones. Life Learning Academia guides organisations step-by-step through process methods. These steps consist forms organisations complete and development of procedures t necessary to upgrade existing processes. Our processes endows added value to participating organisations as it improves output, this being important for the success organisations, their employees, the environment and the World.

p

ARE PROCESSES ANTICIPATED FOR BOTH THE COMPANIES AND PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS? Of course, question arise as to whether this process/method can be used by all organisations regardless of status (business enterprises or public institutions) or size. The answer is affirmative, as our processes consist of steps that strengthen whole organisations or upgrade certain areas with said organisations, e.g. communication, motivation, team creation, and the like, and these areas are important for business enterprises and public institutions alike. In terms of organisational size, the process is implemented slightly differently for large and medium-size companies than for smaller or micro companies. In terms of micro companies, even sole proprietors, individuals must recognise personal processes, and connect, upgrade and establish them to improve company performance.

p

WHEN AND WHY DO ORGANISATIONS DECIDE TO BECOME LEARNING ORGANISATIONS? WHEN? The management of organisations usually decide to join the Learning Organisations Process in coordination with HR departments when it is felt that the organisation should improve internal operations and better stimulate its employees to achieve better results. By joining the process, organisations confirm they want to identify themselves as organisations focused on employees, creating working conditions and climates in which employees are better enabled vis Ă vis personal and professional growth.

WHY? The majority of decisions to join the Learning Organisations Process are based on wishes to obtain competitive advantage vital to survive, maintain market share and increase profit. Organisations gets competitive advantage if its employees create it.

p

WHAT MAKES LEARNING ORGANISATIONS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ORGANISATIONS? The difference between the average and the most successful companies on the market often lies in their employees. Motivated employees are key weapons, especially in times of crisis, when fighting for corporate survival. We are all aware that the source of competitive advantage lies not only in capital and the latest technology, but also in highly-qualified and motivated employees, those who materially contribute with their knowledge, competences and innovative approaches.

8

An increasing number of organisations is aware that learning and knowledge are ingredients without which they would not be successful now and in the future. The answer to the question concerning the difference between market and book values of successful organisations occurs evidences the importance of knowledge. In addition to financial capital, every organisation has intellectual capital, which is the collective knowledge of its employees. An organisation should become a Learning Organisation – Learning Brand so every employee is given the opportunity to fully develop their potential, to feel that they contribute to organisations’ development, and that they belong. In order to fully develop such skills, individuals need the will and ability to learn, communicate, develop creativity, and work in teams. These are the skills that a Learning Organisation better develops among its employees every year through its processes. In organisations not following our process, results show a lack of the factors necessary to stimulate motivation.

p

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER FIVE YEARS? Given that technological development is substantially and continuously changing the world, organisations constantly need process implementation and employee knowledge upgrade to maintain competitive advantage. This is why we recommended that organisations restart the Learning Organisations Process on completion after five years, and so on. Organisations are living organisms continuously changing, growing, and improving, and face change in terms of growth, foreign market entry, ownership, and the like requiring process upgrade and/or establishment. In this way, organisations and their employees constantly learn and upgrade: management encourages and enhances this. Constant care for employees and their knowledge is key to success. In this period, participating organisations better develop the necessary processes for shaping human resources to benefit us all in collaboration with the Expert and Development Board and Life Learning Academia.

p

HOW LONG CAN ORGANISATIONS BE LEARNING ORGANISATIONS? Technological development has been radically changing our world; therefore, in order to stay competitive, organisations always need various processes to upgrade their employees’ knowledge. The management of organisations must encourage and support this. As organisations are live organisms, some of which are undergoing rapid change (mergers, penetration on foreign markets, partial closing, transformation‌), it is recommended that the processes that would be needed to fill the gaps arising therefrom, are supplemented or upgraded. Today, much attention is paid to the management and other staff in HR departments, helping them to develop processes that are necessary or recommended to further improve management and employee development. 18

Continuous care for employees and their knowledge is the key to a successful organisation. In cooperation with Life Learning Organisation’s Expert and Development Board, the included organisations prepare and upgrade HR development processes to facilitate and improve their operations and develop processes to the benefit of us all. All Learning Organisation processes are supported by seminars, workshops, excursions and events in the fields of HR development and mentoring in organisations and outside of them.
