ozdravljeni v novem koledarskem letu in novi številki revije Moč znanj. Napovedi kažejo, da bo leto, ki je pred nami uspešno in pozitivno. Pri tem je potrebno vedeti, da se to ne bo zgodilo kar samo po sebi, temveč samo kot reakcija na naše aktivnosti. Danes bi se osredotočila na problem, ki se nanaša na dve različni ciljni skupini oziroma generaciji – starejše in mlade. Torej imamo lokomotivo, ki vleče dva vagona. V enem so starejši in v enem mladi. Kaj je ključni problem in zakaj morajo starejši delati dlje, medtem ko mladi čakajo na službe? Odgovor se skriva v tem, da postaja prvič v zgodovini človeštva, da je število starejših večje od števila otrok. To prinaša neizogibno soočanje s spremembami starostne strukture prebivalstva. Velike spremembe se obetajo predvsem glede deleža starejših od 65 let. Ugotavljamo torej, da bo omejena ponudba delovne sile v naslednjih desetih letih postala omejitveni dejavnik za gospodarsko rast. V letu 2013 je bil delež delovno sposobnega prebivalstva približno dve tretjini vseh prebivalcev, leta 2050 pa bo ta delež komaj presegel polovico. To pomeni, da bo en delal za dva oziroma moral ustvariti za dva. Na tem mestu pa se soočimo še s problemom, da večina podjetij nima pripravljenih strategij s katerimi bodo vzpodbudile starejše generacije, da delajo dlje. Tu je pomembno zlasti ravnanje s starejšimi zaposlenimi, ustvarjanje klime in kulture v podjetju do starejših, ki starejših ne deskriminira. Hkrati je potrebno ozaveščati starejše, da morajo tudi oni prevzeti odgovornost za zdravo staranje in krepitev lastnih veščin ter kompetenc, ki bodo pripomogle k izboljšanju njegove delovne aktivnosti. Družbeno ravnanje moramo torej spremeniti tako, da v starejših zaposlenih prepoznamo konkurenčno prednost podjetij. Želim veliko dobrih strategij, ki bodo pripomogle k temu. Marjetka Kastner

elcome to the new calendar year and current issue of The Power of Knowledge. Forecasts for the year ahead of us are positive and promise success, yet we need to be aware that success does not happen on its own, but only if our endeavours are worthy of it. Today, I would like to focus on a problem that concerns two different target groups or generations, the young and the elderly. Imagine a locomotive pulling two wagons, one housing the elderly, the other the young; what is the key problem and why do the elderly work longer, while the young wait for employment? The answer lies in the fact that for the first time in human history, the number of elderly exceeds the number of young people, forcing us to adapt to changes in populations’ age structures. Substantial change is particularly expected in the number of people aged above 65. We can thus envisage that over the coming decades, that this relative reduction in the active workforce will be a limiting factor in terms of economic growth. In 2013, those eligible for work in terms of age accounted for approximately two thirds of total population, whilst in 2050, it is predicted they will form just over a half, meaning an employee will, in effect, need to generate income for two. Currently, the majority of companies not having strategies in place to encourage older employees to remain actively employed, particularly in terms of creating appropriate non-discriminatory corporate climates and cultures. At the same time, the elderly must take responsibility for their healthy ageing and better development of skills and knowledge, to remain competitively productive. We must be socially responsible and recognise the competitive advantage older employees represent. I encourage you to develop appropriate strategies to make this a reality. Marjetka Kastner

ag. Eva Cvelbar Primožič, izvršna direktorica za kadre v koncernu Kolektor, po izobrazbi univerzitetna diplomirana sociologinja s področja kadrovskega managementa, ter s končanim magisterijem znanosti s področja splošnega kadrovskega managementa je v koncernu Kolektor zaposlena od leta 2001. Svojo poklicno pot je začela kot pripravnica na kadrovskem področju. Zaradi njene samoiniciativnosti, motiviranosti in uvajanja novosti, je v letu 2005 prevzela vodenje kadrovskega oddelka znotraj enega izmed podjetij v Kolektorju. Z letom 2013 ji je bila zaupana najvišja funkcija za kadrovsko področje v koncernu Kolektor in sicer je postala izvršna direktorica za omenjeno področje. Poleg rednega dela, deluje tudi kot: - članica upravnega odbora Mednarodne podiplomske šole Jožef Štefan, - podpredsednica Life Learning Academia - članica komisije za prihodnost dela in izobraževanja v okviru AmCham - članica Društva za kadrovsko dejavnost in še bi lahko naštevali. Svoj prosti čas pa namenja družini in športu - najraje teče in smuča.

va Cvelbar Primožič, MSc, Executive HR Director in the Kolektor Group, a university graduate sociologist in the field of human resource management and holding a master’s degree from the field of general human resource management, has been employed at the Kolektor Group since 2001. She started her career as a trainee in the field of human resources. Due to her self-initiative, motivation and introduction of innovations, she took over the management of the human resource department within one of the companies in the Kolektor Group in 2005. As of 2013, she was entrusted with the highest human resource function in the Kolektor Group, becoming the Executive Director for the area. In addition to her regular work, she also acts as: - The Member of the Management Board of the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School; - The Vice President of the Life Learning Academia; - The Member of the Commission for the Future of Work and Education in the framework of the AmCham; - The Member of the Slovenian Human Resource Association, and much more. She spends her free time with her family and doing sports – she likes running and skiing.

Stane Jerko z nagrado za življensko delo The lifetime achievement award goes to Stane Jerko

N

agrado za življenjsko delo je prejel legendarni slovenski modni fotograf Stane Jerko. Njegove fotografije nam pripovedujejo na tisoče zgodb iz sveta mode ter ovekovečujejo marsikatero našo znano osebnost. Ko je njegov konjiček postal njegov način življenja, je v modni svet popeljal velike manekenke, kot so Anka Senčar, Nina Gazibara, Bernarda Marovt in Melania Trump, ter z njimi soustvarjal modno sceno. Vedno nadvse profesionalen kavalir stare šole je z modnimi pa tudi drugimi fotografijami desetletja polnil tako rekoč vse vidnejše tiskane medije; delo, s katerim si je vse življenje služil kruh, pa še danes, ko je dopolnil 80 let, ostaja njegova prva aktivnost. S fotoaparatom še vedno spremlja dogodke, kot so modne revije Lisce in Galerije Emporium, ljubljanski teden mode, Slovenka leta ... Letošnja razstava njegovih fotografij v Cankarjevem domu je prinesla celovit vpogled v to, kako je znal ob fotografiranju mojstrsko poudariti ne le lepote obraza in telesa, temveč tudi lepoto duše oziroma značaj in čustva osebnosti. Today, at age 80, his work, which has been his livelihood his entire life, still remains his main activity. He still takes his camera to events such as the Lisca and Galerija Emporium fashion shows, Ljubljana fashion week and Slovenian Woman of the Year. His exhibition of photographs at the Cankar Centre this year gave an insight into how he was masterfully able to not only bring out the beauty of the face and body, but also the soul, character and emotions of the people he photographed. eleposlanik znanja (2017) Dr. Boyd Johnson in njegova raziskovalna skupina so predstavili rezultate svojih raziskav kulturne inteligence na letni konferenci Mednarodnega združenja za vodenje z naslovom “Vodenje v turbulentnih časih” v Bruslju od 14. do 15. oktobra 2017. Glavni cilj predstavitve je bila razprava o tem, kako kulturna inteligenca vpliva na vodstvo v turbulentnem dinamičnem svetu. Novo kulturno znanje bi lahko pomagalo voditeljem, da vodijo bolje v svojih organizacijah po vsem svetu. Dr. Boyd Johnson se je obiskal tudi na Cipru, da bi predstavil nekaj svojih raziskovalnih ugotovitev in se tudi srečal z veleposlanikom znanja, strokovnjakom za vodstvo in inovacije - Dimis Michaelides www.dimis. org. mbassador of Knowledge (2017) Dr. Boyd Johnson and his research team presented results of their Cultural Intelligence Research at the International Leadership Association annual conference, with the theme, “Leadership in Turbulent Times” in Brussels 1415 October, 2017. The main goal of the presentation was to discuss how cultural intelligence impacts leadership in the turbulent dynamic world. New cultural knowledge could help leaders to lead better in their organizations around the globe. Dr. Boyd Johnson also made a trip to Cyprus in order to present some of his research findings and also to meet with fellow Ambassador of Knowledge, expert in leadership and innovation - Dimis Michaelides www.dimis.org. sa skupina AX podjetij je ima za sabo še eno uspešno leto. 29. septembra je skupina AX uradno otvorila hotel Saint John Boutique, ki se nahaja v središču prestolnice Valletta. Koncept hotela je biti intelegentni butični hotel s svojim edinstvenim slogom, inovativnostjo in razkošjem, ki dopolnjuje zgodovinsko glavno mesto Malte. Hotel Saint John Boutique se imenuje po baročni so-katedrali v Valletti, 650 let od spodnjih barakskih vrtov.

Pred skupino AX holdings pa so vedno novi izzivi. Tako bo naslednje leto obnovila Palazzo Merkanti v še en hotel s petimi zvezdicami. Hotel Palazzo je lociran le streljaj od hotela Saint John. V letu 2018 se bo Valletta praznovala kot evropsko mesto kulture. Skupina AX čaka končno odobritev lokalnih organov za razvoj tunela v dolžini 800 metrov pod glavno svetovno dediščino Valletta. To bodo uporabljali potniški trajekti in povezali severni in južni del otoka Malta po morju. Za ta projekt je vlado navdušil Ambasador znanj Angelo Xuereb in bo prvi tovrstni na svetu. Projekt je že dobil zeleno luč s strani UNESCO. Skupino AX je ustanovil Ambasador znanj, Angelo Xuereb pred 42 leti od skromnega začetka in je zdaj priznan kot ena izmed prvih 10 skupin na Malti in predstavlja glavni prispevek k nacionalnemu gospodarstvu. ll of the AX Group of companies had a great successful year and due to its rapid expansion, this year embarked on the construction of its new larger head quarters.

On the 29th September, the AX Group officially inaugurated The Saint John Boutique Hotel which is situated in the centre of the Capital city of Valletta. It is well-defined as a smart boutique hotel by its unique style, innovation, and luxury that complements the historic capital city of Malta. Named after the imposing Baroque co-Cathedral in Valletta, The Saint John Boutique Hotel is set 650 years from Lower Barrakka Gardens. There are new goals and challenges ahead of the AX group. Next year will be restoring Palazzo Merkanti into another 5-star Boutique hotel. The Palazzo is situated a few doors from The Saint John Hotel. In 2018 Valletta will be celebrated as the European city of Culture. The AX Group is waiting for the final approval by the local Authorities to develop an 800 metre long tunnel underneath the world heritage capital city of Valletta. This will be used by passenger ferries and will link the north and south of Malta by sea. This project was inspired by Ambassador Angelo Xuereb and will be the first of its kind worldwide. This project has already has been given the green light from UNESCO. Creative Mentorship oblikuje ustvarjalne generacije In a quest for new creative generation

začetku oktobra 2017 je skupina “Creative Mentorship” obiskala 8 mest v Srbiji, da bi promovirala program in širila dejavnosti in mentorstvo v različnih srbskih mestih v letošnjem ciklusu programa, ki se je pravkar začel z izbiro 25 novih mentorirancev / udeleženci.

Med razpisom za IV ciklus je program prejel 99 prijav iz več kot 15 različnih mest v Srbiji. Dragana Jevtic, Ambasadorka znanj, ki je tudi soustanoviteljica programa “Kreativno mentorstvo”, in njena ekipa sta navdušeni nad zanimanjem, kakovostjo in raznolikostjo aplikacij. “Ponosni smo, da smo s posvečenim delom zadnjih 5 let privabili mnogo srbskih strokovnjakov s področja kulture, umetnosti in medijev. “Kreativno mentorstvo” je prvi mentorski program v Srbiji, ki se ukvarja z vprašanjem osebnega in strokovnega razvoja prihodnjih voditeljev na področju kulture. Njegov cilj je spodbujati mentorstvo kot način vseživljenjskega učenja ter izmenjavo znanja in izkušenj. Cilj tega programa je razviti in podpreti skupnost motiviranih in družbeno odgovornih posameznikov, ki bi prispevali k družbi, ki temelji na ustvarjalnosti, kulturi, znanju in sodelovanju. S programom se nadarjeni, namenski in angažirani mladi strokovnjaki, dejavni na področju kulture, ujemajo z mentorji, izbranimi glede na njihove potrebe in interese. V prejšnjih treh programskih ciklusih so bili mentorji najboljši lokalni in tuji strokovnjaki. Naj jih nekaj naštejemo: Jasna Dimitrijević, direktorica fundacije Ilija M. Kolarac, Aida Ćorović, aktivistka za človekove pravice, Tony O’Brien, bivši direktor britanske vlade, Maja Lalić, kreativna direktorica Mikserja, Olga Svoboda, direktorica rešitev HR Group Group, Branko Dimitrijević, umetnostni teoretik, Klaus Nielsen, bivša veleposlanica Danske v Srbiji, Marija Desivojevič Cvetković, podpredsednica Delta Holdinga, Helene Larsson Pousette, nekdanja Kulturni ataše švedskega veleposlaništva v Beogradu in še mnogi drugi. Program kreativnega mentorstva je nepridobiten in je za mnoge morda brezplačen zaradi številnih pokroviteljev programa iz zasebnega, javnega in civilnega sektorja iz Srbije in tujine. Pokrovitelji četrtega cikla kreativnega mentorstva za zdaj so Titan Cementara Kosjerić, Coca Cola Hellenic, Ministrstvo za kulturo in informiranje Republike Srbije, Veleposlaništvo Švedske v Beogradu, Francoski inštitut v Srbiji in ERSTE banka. Naši partnerji so Gi Group HR Solutions, Nova Iskra, Mokrinova hiša, Tiskarna Vizartis, EPIC ASISTANTS, Designed.rs in drugi. Program Creative Mentorship se je začel leta 2012. It aims to promote mentorship as a way of lifelong learning and exchange of knowledge and experience. Goal of this programme is to develop and support a community of motivated and socially responsible individuals who would contribute to the society based on creativity, culture, knowledge and collaboration. Through programme, talented, dedicated and engaged young professionals, active in the field of culture, match with mentors, chosen according to their needs and interests. In the previous three cycles of the program mentors were top local and foreign professionals, just to mention few: Jasna Dimitrijević, Director of the Foundation Ilija M. Kolarac, Aida Ćorović, human rights activist, Tony O`Brien, former Director of the British Council for the Western Balkans, Mette Kjuel Nielsen, former Ambassador of Denmark in Serbia, Marija Desivojevic Cvetkovic, Delta Holding Vice President, Maja Lalic, Creative Director of Mikser, Olga Svoboda, Director of GI Group HR Solutions, Branko Dimitrijevic, art theoretician, Helene Larsson Pousette, former Culture Attaché of the Swedish Embassy in Belgrade and others. Creative Mentorship programme has a non-profit character and is free of charge for the mentees, thanks to the numerous patrons of the programme, from the private, public and civil sector from Serbia and abroad. The patrons for the fourth cycle of “Creative mentoring” for now are Titan Cementara Kosjerić, Coca Cola Hellenic, Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade, French Institute in Serbia and ERSTE bank. ospa Romana Tomc - poslanka v Evropskem parlamentu, predstavnica Slovenske demokratske stranke in v Evropskem parlamentu med številnimi funkcijami tudi članica Odbora za zaposlovanje in socialne zadeve. Med različnimi funkcijami, ki ste jih že imela je ves čas čutiti, da ste povezana z delom za ljudi. npr. Ministrstvo za delo in družino, Javni sklad za razvoj kadrov in štipendije, zdaj v Evropskem parlamentu ste v odboru za zaposlovanje in socialne zadeve. Kje vidite Slovenijo z vidika razvoja, napram ostalim evropskim državam? Dobro nam gre, posebej v zadnjem času. Res je to splet različnih okoliščin, predvem zunanjega okolja. Pogoje imamo, znanje imamo, imamo tudi strateško lego. Imamo nekaj izjemnih podjetij, ki sodijo v svetovni vrh in imamo nadpovprečno uspešne posameznike. Kot država pa nismo ravno med tistimi, po katerih bi se drugi zgledovali. Tepejo nas stari grehi, domače naloge, ki jih nismo naredili. Radi bi bili najboljši, pa ne vemo, kako. Ali pa vemo, a nismo pripravljeni vložiti napora, da bi cilj resnično dosegli. Za zmago je treba ob želji in talentu tudi trdo delati. Mi tega napora enostavno nismo pripravljeni narediti. Razlogov pa je seveda več. Stiske ljudi se vas vedno dotaknejo.. Katere spremembe vi opazite pri ljudeh v vseh teh letih? Se vam zdi, da smo prebrodili splošno otopelost, ki jo je ustvarila kriza? Kriza je že zdavnaj mimo, poglejte, vse naše sosednje države in naši vlečni konji v gospodarskem smislu so v konjukturi. Vendar so posledice, ki jih je ta kriza pustila na ljudeh, še vedno občutne. Najbrž je odvisno tudi od karakterja ljudi in naroda, kako prenašajo kritične čase. Tudi mediji so pomembni. Če jim vsak dan ponujajo le slabe novice, bodo ljudje začeli verjeti, da je zares slabo. Če vsak dan govorijo, da vsi kradejo in lažejo, bodo izgubili upanje, da je lahko še kdo, ki je drugačen. To vsegliharstvo in čredni nagon sta zelo nevarni stvari. Je pa res, da mnogi ljudje resnično slabo živijo. Posebej na tisoče upokojencev, ki namesto pokojnine prejemajo miloščino. Tega nam v tako bogati državi kot je Slovenija, ni treba. Vprašati bi se morali, zakaj je tako, določiti diagnozo in začeti zdravljenje. Pošteno in brezkompromisno. Štiri leta zapored prihajamo z različnimi generacijami k vam v Parlament na obisk. Vedno najdete čas in nas prijazno sprejmete. Meni osebno ostaja v spominu, da imate vedno nove mlade kandidate, ki pri vas nabirajo izkušnje za svojo kariero. Koliko kandidatov na leto sprejmete?

Among the positions that you have carried, you were always connected to working with people. E.g. Ministry of Labor and Family, Public Fund for Human Resources Development and Scholarships, now in the European Parliament you are in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. Where do you see Slovenia in terms of development, in comparison to other European countries? We are doing well, especially recently. Indeed, this is a set of different circumstances, mostly of the external environment. We have the conditions, we have the knowledge, and we have a strategic position. We have some exceptional companies that belong to the world top and we have above-average successful individuals. As a country, however, we are not exactly an inspiration to others. The old sins, the homework that we did not do, are slowing us down. We want to be the best, but we do not know how. Perhaps we know, but we are not ready to make the effort to achieve the goal. It is necessary to work hard besides being willing and having talent, to achieve success. We are simply not ready to make this effort. There are several reasons for that. People’s distress always touches you. What changes do you see in people over the years? Do you think we have overcome the general passiveness created by the crisis? The crisis is long gone and all of our neighbor countries along with our pulling force, economically speaking are in conjuncture. Nevertheless, consequences that this crisis left on the people are still noticeable. It also depends on the character of the people and nation, how they tolerate critical times. The media is also important. If they offer only bad news every day, people will start to believe that we are in bad situation. If they

communicate every day, that everyone is stealing and lying, people will lose hope. Indifference and herd instinct are very dangerous things. However, it is true that many people live in bad conditions. Especially thousands of pensioners who receive mercy instead of a pension. There is no need for this in a rich country like Slovenia. We should ask ourselves why we are in such a situation, diagnose it and start treatment. Fair and uncompromising.

Res je, ob začetku mandata sem se odločila, da bom delala v prvi vrsti to, kar je dobro za Slovenijo. Ko smo se spraševali, kaj konkretno lahko naredimo, poleg tega da se ukvarjamo z neskončnim številom dokumentov, ki dnevno prihajajo na mojo mizo, je padla ideja, da bi omogočila čim več mladim, da se preskusijo v delovni izkušnji v tujini. Da jim približam delo evropskih institucij, da se pobližje spoznajo z evropskimi politikami. Vemo, prav mladi so tisti, ki ne hodijo na volitve in tudi tako si želim glas o tem, da je Evropska unija za nas dobra stvar, ponesti naprej. Saj veste, dober glas seže v deveto vas. Kakšno delo čaka mlade, ki se prijavijo k vam in kako poteka postopek prijave? Do danes je v moji pisarni v Bruslju opravljalo pripravništvo 30 mladih. To je lepa številka. Mnogi med njimi so bili študenti, za nekatere je bila to na splošno prva delovna izkušnja, imeli smo že stažista, ki je bil slušno prizadet. Vendar za vsakega dobimo delo. Tisti, ki si želijo te izkušnje, lahko svojo prijavo z življenjepisom pošljejo na moj elektronski naslov, potem pa s kandidati vzpostavimo stik, naredimo krajši intervju in jim na podlagi odgovorov in splošnega vtisa ponudimo datum stažiranja. Zanimanja je veliko... Vaše življenje je malce posebno. Drugače pravzaprav ne more biti, saj ste razpeta med Ljubljano, Brusljem in Novim mestom. Lahko družina ostane poveza kljub temu, da ste veliko odsotna in kako na to gledajo vaši najbližji? Menim, da lahko ostane, oziroma ostane toliko časa, kolikor je interesa za to. Jaz imam svojo družino zelo rada, še najraje pa imam tiste dneve, ko se dobimo vsi skupaj, pripravimo kosilo, večerjo in poklepetamo o različnih temah. Včasih se moram tudi zagovarjati za svoje politične odločitve (smeh). Kakšna je Romana Tomc doma? Kaj najraje počnete? Tisti, ki me na novo spoznajo, so presenečeni, ker pričakujejo malce bolj zadržano osebo. Nekateri celo ne vedo ali se smejo in kako naj se pogovarjajo z mano. Daleč od tega. Sem preprosta oseba, imam malo drugačno službo, sicer pa živim povsem normalno življenje in se družim z normalnimi ljudmi. Počnem vse kar počnejo mame, žene, gospodinje, prijateljice, znanke. Nimam hišne pomočnice, rada smučam, plešem in se zabavam. Tako kot pri delu pa skušam vse narediti dobro. To me včasih pripelje tudi v kakšno nepotrebno stresno situacijo, ampak tako učim tudi otroke. Kar delaš, delaj pošteno in po svojih najboljših močeh.

For four consecutive years, we come with different generations to the Parliament to visit you. You always find time and kindly welcome us. Personally, I remember that you always have new young candidates who gather experience for their careers. How many candidates do you accept per year? It is true, at the beginning of the mandate I decided to work primarily on what is good for Slovenia. When we were wondering what we could do specifically, besides dealing with the infinite number of documents that come to my desk every day, we got an idea to give a chance to as many young people as possible to try themselves in a work experience abroad. To bring them closer to the work of the European institutions and to get to know more about European policies. We know that precisely young people do not go to the polls, and that is how I want to give notice that the European Union is a good thing for us. You know, we have a saying in Slovenia: A good name goes a long way! What kind of work awaits for the young in your office and what is the procedure of the application? To date, 30 young people carried out a traineeship in my office in Brussels. That is a nice number. Many of them were students, for some it was generally their first work experience. We already had an intern who is hearing-impaired. However, for each of them, we find work. Those who want this experience can send their CV’s to our e-mail address, and then we contact the candidates, do a short interview and offer a date of internship based on answers and general impression. There is plenty of interest... Your life is a bit special. It cannot be otherwise actually, since you are split between Ljubljana, Brussels and Novo mesto. Can the family stay connected even though you are very absent from home? How are your loved ones coping with it? I think there can be as much time for the family, as there is interest. I love my family very much, and I like the most those days when we are together, prepare lunch, dinner and chat about different topics. Sometimes I also have to defend myself for my political decisions (laughter). Who is Romana Tomc at home? What do you like to do most? Those who get to know me are surprised, because they expect a more reserved person. Some even do not know whether they can and how they should talk to me. Far from that. I am a simple person, I have a slightly different job, otherwise I live a normal life and I hang out with normal people. I am doing everything the moms, women, housewives, friends, acquaintances do. I do not have a house maid, I like to ski, dance and have fun. As with work, I try to do my best at everything I do. This sometimes leads me to an unnecessary stressful situation, but I also teach this to the children: What you do, do it honestly and give it your best effort. Elections are approaching. Can you trust us with some plans? It is true. Apparently, these will be interesting elections. (Smile)

GNEČA NA LETALIŠČU CROWDED AIRPORT

K

aj storiti, ko na letališču izveš, da je tvoj let odpovedan in imaš naslednjega čez nekaj ur? Pred tem pa si imel dolgo pot čez lužo in se domov vračaš iz Münchna. Če imaš srečo, lahko vstopiš v letališki salon, se udobno namestiš in počakaš :-). Moja osebna izkušnja je že taka. Med zadnjo potjo v ZDA na poti tja in nazaj daljši postanek na letališčih, na katerih sem čakala na prestope, enkrat celo na odpovedan let. Potem razmišljam, pa imajo res nekateri srečo, da gredo lahko v letališki salon. Jaz pa z »običajno« letalsko karto (economy razred) čakam v prenatrpani čakalnici. Še sreča, da me je prijateljica spomnila, da imava obe kartico Diners Club. Tako sva krenili malce nejeverno proti letališkemu salonu. Kdo ve, ali ta storitev res deluje tako kot obljubljajo. Po hitri registraciji brez posebnih vprašanj pri vhodu sem se odpravila proti salonu. Na udobnih sedežih so posedali potniki, nekateri so sedeli v delovni sobi in v miru tipkali po prenosnikih ali brskali po telefonih, spet drugi so pohiteli do brezplačnega bifeja s hrano in pijačo. Sama pa sem si najprej privoščila osvežitev pod prho, saj je bila za mano dolga in mučna 12-urna pot. Po osvežilni prhi sem tudi sama zavila do brezplačnega bifeja po sadje in osvežilno pijačo ter se priključila na WiFi-omrežje. Brezplačno, brez omejitev. Na letališču bi mi zaračunali poštene denarce. Vpisala sem čarobno geslo in že bila on line. Po mobilniku sem prenesla elektronsko pošto, googlala, facebookala, youtubala. In to s povsem spodobno hitrostjo. Navadno je treba povezavo deliti z nekaj sto drugimi čakajočimi, tukaj pa nas je le nekaj manj. Verjetno ste vsi, ki ste že kdaj potovali z letalom, na letališčih med čakanjem na polet pogledovali proti posebnim zaprtim prostorom z visokimi pregradami pred radovednimi očmi, imenovanimi poslovni saloni, v katere vstopajo le izbrani potniki. Privilegirancem se tako ni treba družiti z navadnimi smrtniki, sedeti na trdih stolih, iskati redkih električnih vtičnic, plačevati za drago spletno povezavo ali si kupovati precenjenih osvežilnih napitkov in prigrizkov. W

hat should you do when you are already at the airport and suddenly find out that your flight has been cancelled and the next ones in hours later? And you had just come off a long flight across the pond on your way home from Münich. If you’re lucky, you can go to the airport lounge, make yourself comfortable and wait :-). That was the experience I had. On my last trip to the US I had a long layover at airports, both on my way there and on my way back, where I had to wait for transfers and once even a cancelled flight. Considering these circumstances, I can honestly say that those who can use the lounge are really lucky. While I, with my ‘normal’ boarding ticket for economy class, had to wait in an overcrowded terminal. Luckily, my friend reminded me that we both had Diners Club cards. So we decided to go to the airport lounge, both feeling a little wary. Who knows if we would really get the service it promised. But after a speedy registration at the entrance we were in the lounge in no time. Looking around we saw passengers relaxing in the comfortable chairs, some were sitting in the dedicated work area, typing on their laptops or flipping through their phones, while others were making their way to the free buffet that offered food and drinks. I decided to take a refreshing shower first, since my long and arduous 12-hour-flight had taken its toll. After a lovely shower, I went to the free buffet to get some fruit and a fresh drink, then connected to the free Wi-Fi network. Free and unlimited! That would not be the case if I just used the airport Wi-Fi, they charge a fortune. I entered the magical password and was online in an instant. Using my phone, I could easily check my e-mail, look up things on Google, use Facebook and YouTube, no problem. And at a decent speed. You usually have to share your connection with hundreds of other waiting passengers, but here there were only a few people. When travelling by plane, you have probably been to an airport where, while waiting, you could see a special area protected from prying eyes by barriers. Also known as the business lounge where only select passengers could enter. These privileged few did not have to mingle with the ordinary passengers, sit on hard seats, look for the few available electrical outlets, pay for expensive Internet connections or buy overpriced drinks and snacks. Now I know that the Diners Club card services really work and at almost all the airport around the world - at over 750 of them! ach year during the annual Life Learning Academia Global Conference and gala evening to honors those who exemplify excellence in knowledge development. This year we will host you in Ljubljana - the capital of Slovenia on the location above the city in Ljubljana Castle. Ljubljana Castle is a castle complex standing on Castle Hill above downtown Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is a key landmark of the town. Originally a medieval fortress, it was probably constructed in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 12th century. The castle of Ljubljana is just one of the castles in the city but certainly the biggest one and also the most visited. Akademsko gospodarski kongres – 31. maj 2017

K

oncem maja 201 smo skupaj gradili znanje. Priznanja Referenca, so šla v roke dobrim potencialom iz sedmih različnih držav, na novo pa so se Ambasadorjem znanj pridružila najuglednejša imena iz 10-ih različnih držav širom po svetu: Slovenija, Srbija, francija, ZDA, Avstrija, Bosna in

Hercegovina, Velika Britanija, Albanija, Nemčija in Ciper. Priznanja so podelili Ambasadorji znanj in Marjetka Kastner – direktorica Life Learning Academia. Svečanost so podkrepili cerfitikati Učečim se organizacijam - Learning Brand, ki so jih

prejele organizacije, ki so letos uspešno zaključile certifikacijski process. Bilo jih je kar 32. Certifikate sta podelila novoizvoljeni predsednik Učečih se organizacij Tine Svoljšak in direktorica Life Learning Academia Malta, gospa Justine Cassar Gaspar. Vsem prejemnikom iskrene čestitke.

Academic Economic Congress – May 31st 2017

O

n Wednesday, May 31st we have built knowledge together. The Ambassadors of Knowledge from Slovenia and abroad gave the awards Reference, which were received by individuals or groups who came from 7 different countries. We have also appointed new Ambassadors of Knowledge that represent 10 different countries. The new Ambassadors of Knowledge came from ten countries: Slovenia, Serbia, France, USA, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain, Albania, Germany and Cyprus. Ambassadors of Knowledge each year award young potentials with the recognition Reference.

We have seen outstanding achievements, received by the recipients of the awards Reference, Mentor and International Coordinator of Knowledge. Reference Awards were given by the slovenian Ambassadors of Knowledge, recognition Mentor by Msc. Marjetka Kastner. All those who have passed the certification process, were awarded with certificates and plaques for a Learning Organization Learning Brand. We are pleased that more and more companies are supporting the concept of a learning organization and their business remains successful. Certificates were given by Tine Svoljšak, president of the Learning

organization and Justine Cassar Gaspar, director of the Life Learning Academia, Malta. Congratulations on receiving award and we look forward to seeing you on June 5th next year.

niverza John Naisbitt (Megatrend univerza) je prejela priznanje za najboljšo evropsko zasebno univerzo v letu 2017. Nagrade, ki jih je podelil neodvisni Evropski komite so bile podeljene v juliju 2017. Za priznanje pa se je potegovalo kar 47 univerz iz celotne regije in Evrope. Mića Jovanović (ustanovitelj in lastnik universe) je bil po 4 letnem odmoru ponovno izvoljen za rektorja universe. Takoj po izvolitvi je za univerzo

potrdil uporabo starega naziva Megatrend university, tako kot se je imenovala že pred časom.

ohn Naisbitt University (Megatrend University) was awarded as “The best European private university in 2017” in Sarajevo, on the 6th of July 2017. The award was given by the Independent European committee and the competition covered 47 universities from Europe and the Region. Mića Jovanović (the founder and owner of the University) was after almost four years of break again appointed Rector of Megatrend University. The appointment was confirmed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The date of appointment: 12th of October 2017. He’s immediately returned old University name back: “Megatrend University”, instead of “John nisi University”.

Prejemniki priznanj skupaj z Life Learning Academia na Malti Award recipients together with Life Learning Academia visit Malta

P

o treh letih obiska Bruseljskega parlamenta smo predstavniki Life Learning Academia, prejemniki priznanj Referenca, Ambasadorji znanj, Mednarodni koordinatorji in ostali gostje obiskali otok Malta. To je otok z bogato zgodovino, prijetno mediteransko klimo, pisanimi balkoni, čistim morjem in domom svetovne legende dr. Edwarda de Bona. Prvi večer nam je gostiteljica – direktorica Life Learning Academia Malta, gospa Justine Cassar Gaspar pripravila prijazen sprejem ob pričetku dela z Učečimi se organizacijami na Malti. V nadaljevanju smo si ogledali prestolnicoa Valetto, bili na obisku pri župano otoka Gozo in predsednici Otoka Gozo, ter obiskali Učečo se organizacijo Hill Top Gardens. Zaradi prijetne izkušnje se zagotovo še vrnemo.

fter three years of visit to the Brussels Parliament, representatives of the Life Learning Academia, recipients of the References, Knowledge Ambassadors, International Coordinators and other special guests in December 2017 visited Malta island. Malta is an island with rich history, pleasant Mediterranean climate, colorful balconies, clean sea in the home of the world legend dr. Edward de Bona. The first evening we have a special opportunity to be the honour guests of our host – director of Life Learning Academia - Mrs Justine Cassar Gaspar. Seh has prepared a friendly reception at the beginning of work with Learning Organizations in Malta. We also visited the capital Valetta and next day the mayor of the island of Gozo, the president of the island Gozo, and first Learning organization in Malta - Hill Top Gardens. Thanks to the pleasant experience. We definitely come back.

Mednarodna koordinatorka Marta Strgar je obiskala Ambasadorko znanj in večno borko za pravice otrok Dianne Lang The International Knowledge Coordinator Marta Strgar visited the Ambassador of Knowledge and the eternal child rights activist Dianne Lang

V

januarju je mednarodna koordinatorica Marta Strgar, obiskala ambasadorko znanja iz Južne Afrike gospo Dianne Lang na njenem domu v Port Elizabethu. Gospa Dianne Lang je trenutno težko bolna, sicer pa ustanoviteljica zavetišča za zapuščene otroke z ulic, avtorica več knjig in večkratna prejemnica nagrade za osebnost leta v Južni Afriki. Z vsem srcem je še vedno zavezana borbi za človekove pravice v Južni Afriki. Kot sama pravi za pravice tistih, ki iz kakršnegakoli razloga ne morejo govoriti zase in se zavzeti za svoje pravice. Skupaj z Markom Koračem, ki je zaradi njenih izjemnih dosežkov predlagal njeno imenovanje in prisostvoval obisku, sta z njo delila neverjetne občutke veselja in hvaležnosti ob obisku.

n January, the International Knowledge Coordinator Marta Strgar visited the Ambassador of Knowledge from South Africa, Mrs Dianne Lang, at her home in Port Elizabeth. Ms. Dianne Lang is currently seriously ill, but is the founder of a shelter for abandoned children from the streets, an author of several books, and a multiple recipient of the Personality of the Year Award in South Africa. She is still committed to the fight for human rights in South Africa with all her heart. She says she is fighting for the rights of those who, for whatever reason, cannot speak for themselves and fight for their rights. When visiting her, they shared incredible feelings of joy and gratitude with her, together with Marko Korač, who, due to her exceptional achievements, proposed her nomination and attended the visit.

Listino raznolikosti podpisali tudi predstavniki Učečih se organizacij The Charter of Diversity was also signed by the leaders of the Learning Organizations 14. novembra 2017 smo v Sloveniji vzpostavili Listino raznolikosti, ki jo je podpisalo 59 različnih organizacij. Dogodek je potekal pod astnim pokroviteljstvom P.redsednika Boruta Pahorja. Med prvimi podpisniki so bili tudi predstavniku Učečih se organizacij: JB restavracija – Janez Bratovž, Detektivska Agencija – direktorica Bernarda Škrabar, Life Learning Academia – direktorica Marjetka Kastner.

On November 14, 2017, we officially established the Charter of Diversity Slovenia, which was signed by the first 59 Slovenian organizations. The event was held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor. Among the first signatories were also the Director of Life Learning Academia, Mrs. Marjetka Kastner and representatives of the Learning Organizations – Director Janez Bratovž – JB Restaurant and Mrs. Bernarda Škrabar – Director of the Detective Security Agency.
