Oceanographic Processes explores the fundamental physical, chemical, biological, and geological processes that shape the worlds oceans. The course covers the dynamics of ocean circulation, waves, and tides; the distribution and cycling of nutrients; key marine ecosystems; and the interaction between the ocean, atmosphere, and Earth's climate system. Students will gain insight into how energy and matter move through ocean systems, the tools used to study oceanographic phenomena, and the role of the ocean in global environmental issues. Through practical case studies and laboratory work, students develop a comprehensive understanding of ocean science and its applications to environmental stewardship.
