Juvenile Delinquency explores the nature, extent, and causes of delinquent behavior among youth. This course examines the social, psychological, and environmental factors contributing to juvenile offending, as well as the processes by which young people are labeled as delinquents. Students will study criminological theories, the role of families, peers, schools, and communities, and the responses of the juvenile justice system. The course also addresses prevention strategies, intervention programs, and public policy initiatives aimed at reducing delinquency and promoting positive youth development.
