This course provides an introduction to the principles, techniques, and best practices for teaching physical education at the elementary school level. Emphasizing developmentally appropriate activities, students will learn how to design, implement, and assess physical education lessons that promote motor skill development, physical fitness, cooperation, and lifelong healthy habits. Coursework includes classroom management strategies, planning for diverse learners, integration of health and wellness concepts, and the use of assessment to guide instruction. Field experiences and hands-on activities may be incorporated to help future educators gain practical teaching skills and confidence in creating positive, inclusive environments for young learners.
