Applied Welding Practices
Exam Review
Course Introduction
Applied Welding Practices is a hands-on course designed to introduce students to the fundamental techniques and safety protocols of welding in industrial and construction settings. The course covers various welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), as well as cutting methods such as oxy-fuel and plasma arc cutting. Emphasis is placed on the proper selection of materials, interpretation of welding symbols on blueprints, joint preparation, and troubleshooting common welding defects. Through laboratory practice, students develop the skills necessary to produce quality welds that meet industry standards and strengthen their understanding of weldings application across different sectors.
