Studies show that people who graduate from high sch ool earn a lot more money wouldn’t even think of not over their life time than tho completing school in today’ se who do not. I s society. You hardly have a is like throwing more than chance of making it. Quittin $200,000 down the dra g school early in. An d that is just to start. Instead, next seven years of your life I encourage you to keep go will determine the quality of life for the rest of your life ing. The . (And perhaps, your childre n’s life too).

Just for you, we have searched the top 20 reasons to stay in school. And here they are… 1. More choices! A high school diploma is your first step toward choosing your own future. 2. More opportunity! The more degrees you have – from high-school to college and beyond – the more opportunity you’ll have. 3. More friends! School is where your friends are and where the fun is. Find friends who share your interests. 4. More money! On average, people with high school diplomas earn about $9,200 per year more a year than dropouts. Over a 30-year career, that’s $276,000 more! 5. More fun! School isn’t just about, well…school. There are lots of opportunities to take part in sports, clubs and other activities. 6. More time! Dropouts often have to get more than one job to make ends meet. Who has time for that? 7. More to see and do! Dropping out is a good way to get stuck where you are – for life. If you want to get out and see the world, get a high school diploma.

44

8. Less trouble! Staying in school helps you stay out of trouble. Dropouts have a higher risk of getting pregnant or in trouble with the law. 9. Less work! It’s true. Staying in school is the best way to avoid low-paying jobs that involve hard manual labor. 10. A better future! High school dropouts are more likely than graduates to be unemployed, in poor health, living in poverty, on public assistance, and single parents with dropouts of their own. You can do better! Get On the Bus and stay in school. 11. It will make your parents proud. There is nothing better for a parent than receiving a diploma from you. Abuelita, your tios and all the family will know and will be so proud of you. 12. Guys prefer girls who have an education. Eventually in your life you will fell ready for a wedding. By finishing school, you will be in a better position to select your husband. A degree keeps you away from losers.

PHOTOGRAPHY When your party has finalized you will want to cherish the best moments of your celebration and the best way to do so is throughout photography! Visually capturing a Quinceañera celebration is no longer a luxury of the past. Current digital technology creates marvels in the hands of a professional photographer!

A professional photographer is someone who is capable of capturing each spontaneous moment, that special look in your eyes, the laughter of your guests, that nervous expression etc. Every time you interview with photographers to check out their work, make sure you pay special attention to their sample photographs. have put Keep in mind the budget you Before it. r ove go aside and try not to into e tak her hiring your photograp le restrictions consideration all of the possib as far as the church and hall may have you discuss e sur photography goes, make choose you her these with the photograp ct. tra con before signing any sort of

IMAGEN LATINA PHOTOGRAPHY

Ask friends that have already celebrated their Quinceañeras to show you their photographers work so that you can have more options to compare. The perfect photographer is he who’s work speaks for itself and that should be the most important thing to keep in mind during your search! Observe their use of color and images. Do the truly capture the feelings that you want to capture in your pictures? Remember that in the end your photographs are the memories you will endure forever!!

QUESTIONS TO ASK a. Can you show me the photo shoot you have done? b. Can you give me contact information for the last person you did work for? If denied this information it may be because the doubt their quality of work. (If for some reason they are not prepared to show you the last photo shoot they did suggest maybe showing you the job they did previous to the last). These two questions are key in order to know if they truly have a stable work trajectory.

c. Do you have special packages for Quinceañeras?

d. How many photographs are included in the package?

e. What sizes? f. What style of pictures do you do? g. Do we need to have a session prior to my event?

h. Can I suggest the pictures I want or is there a particular format used when capturing Quinceañera events?

i. Will you be the photographer taking my pictures?

order extra photographs? l. Do you have a digital album?? m. What is the total cost of the package? n. Is there any sort of policy in the event of canceling the package? o. Everything you need to know Your religious ceremony is something very special, it is the time to thank God for all the gifts he has given you, for your parents, for those who have shared all your happiness and have been able to guide you to be the girl you are today! It is the time to honor and to make a commitment to be a better person not only with yourself but also with those around you that sincerely love you. You must decide what kind of ceremony you want performed. It can be a Mass of Thanks giving, or simply a prayer for your occasion. A family member, a pastor, a priest, or a preacher can direct this service. Once you have decided on a date, visit your church and make sure the date is available and secure it. Donations for the ceremony vary. (Religious rehearsals are not charged).

ALEX PIMENTEL PHOTOGRAPHY

Questions to ask:

IF for some reason your ceremony takes place outdoors; such as in a garden, you must plan accordingly and with plenty of time. Will you need to build an alter? Will you need to rent seating equipment for your guests? These ceremonies tend to be more expensive. The latest trend is for quinceañeras to undertake their religious ceremony in their ballroom. This is very convenient and practical. Most of your guest will witness and be present for this beautiful ceremony and you can use your ballroom floral arrangements to create a church environment.

Are there any restrictions for the videographer and photographer? Will this ceremony be only for you? Or will it be a Community celebration? Are there any restrictions with the quinceañera dress? Will I be required to do voluntary work as part of my preparation for my quince? How much is the donation required for the celebration? Is there an extra fee for the choir? How much? Are there any restrictions with the decorations in general and decorations on the pews? When and what time will my florist be able to decorate? How much time will my florist have to pick up the decorations?

Requirements from the Catholic Church We present the most common and usual requirements by most Catholic Parishes. If you do not have all of them, contact your parish rectory immediately. They will educate you and provide you with information on how to obtain them. • Christening/Baptism Certificate • First Communion Certificate • Confirmation Certificate • Volunteering (Some parishes may require certain amount of volunteer hours)

DECORATIONS The décor is the nicest visual at your party; it should be coordinated with your theme and color scheme of choice. You do not have to have an exact match to your color, in fact using different shades of that color will be a nice compliment and even more elegant. If you will be using natural flowers make sure to order at least three months in advance. The height of your centerpieces should be in proportion with the size of your banquet facility. If you will be using balloons make sure to hire a professional.
