Carers’ Connection January 2022
Welcome to our first Carers’ Connection newsletter of 2022. Let’s hope we can meet up again this year and that things become a little easier with the lifting of some restrictions. Included with your newsletter you will find a gift voucher which we hope you enjoy spending and that it might bring you a little me time.
sessions and setting up a health and wellbeing support group. We also plan to establish a welfare fund for carers based on the fantastic work achieved by Vocal, a carers’ support service based in Edinburgh. Finally, we want to further develop a lending library for carers, working in partnership with the new health and wellbeing librarian at Aberdeen City Libraries.
I would like to thank everyone who sent in feedback to the service last year. It is so helpful to us to get your thoughts, especially when planning further service development. From reviewing them all I can see how useful the Time to Live funding has been, especially over lockdown, and it has been really interesting to look at some of the creative ways you have found to get a break.
Very busy and exciting times lie ahead, and we look forward to working with you to continue to grow our co-produced service.
I am sure you all saw our exciting press release announcing additional funding for carers from the Scottish Government. I wanted to give you some further information on how the service will break this down. We will be adding to the Time to Live pot so that more carers can benefit from this funding, so please get your application in if you haven’t already done so. We will be working in partnership with Avenue Aberdeen to offer carers counselling
