Floor Pads Scotch-Brite™ Surface Preparation Pad Prepares wood, vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, marble, terrazzo and concrete floors for finish applications. These environmentally preferable pads require only neutral cleaner or water to effectively deep scrub and remove most floor finishes, leaving a clean surface ready for refinishing. Scrub and Recoat using 3M™ SPP (Surface Preparation Pads) Tools:

Step 1 – Generously apply diluted neutral cleaner to the pre-cleaned floor to be recoated.

Mop bucket with clean water Clean mop Mop bucket with diluted neutral cleaner Wet/Dry Vac Easy Trap Duster material Easy Trap Holder and Handle (Optional) Floor Machine SPP Pads (Surface Preparation Pads) Backer Pad (Red or White) to put behind SPP pad on Machine)* SPP Doodle Bug Pads Doodlebug pad holder Wood Handle for Doodlebug pad holder Wax application system or mops, mop buckets and liners.

*Using a backer pad will allow the pad to work better on uneven floors and reduce “tiger stripping” caused by uneven pad pressure

Step 2 – Attach backer pad and SPP pad to the Floor Machine. Step 3 – Scrub floor north to south AND east to west to ensure a throughout and even removal of the top few coats of finish. Step 4 – Scrub all edges and hard to reach areas with SPP Doodlebug pad. Step 5 – Vacuum all water and finish residue with Wet/Dry Vac. Step 6 – Apply clean water to this area and vacuum area again to ensure a clean surface. Step 7 – Once completely dry check surface to make sure no white powder (dried wax) remains on the surface. (if white powder remains, repeat step 6) Step 8 – Use Easy Trap Duster to remove left over fine dust and particles. Step 9 – Apply 2-4 coats of additional Floor Finish.
