The next phase of research taps on literature resources to increase the depth of understanding on housing through a range of factors. The literature reviewed include dwellings of home-based workers and the impact of the physical environment on emotional well-being. It is further expanded through the analysis of existing case studies and competition entries, which were categorised in sets of strategies through different scales. The last phase of research methodology follows a series of analysis and analogies of the residential context in Singapore through a range of different scales, from the overall urban scale, to town scale, precinct scale, to estate and unit scale. Lastly, the research will focus on the study of private high-rise real estate as a starting point to formulate a new housing typology that supports working from home, through a set of preliminary design strategies.
