The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) hosted Shaping Tomorrow: STEM Powered Women, celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
Organised by the Doha Women Forum, the event brought together leading female professionals in STEM to inspire, mentor, and empower the next generation.
The event featured a dynamic panel discussion with accomplished women in academia, industry, and entrepreneurship, highlighting their journeys, challenges, and the impact of mentorship in shaping future leaders.
Dr. Rosie Bateson, Dean of the College of General Education, opened the event, reaffirming UDST’s commitment to fostering diverse STEM talent.
H.E. Javier Carbajosa Sanchez, Ambassador of Spain to Qatar, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the role of women in driving global innovation.

udemars Piguet marks its 150th anniversary with a special exhibition at the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet in Le Brassus. "The House of Wonders" showcases the brand’s legacy through the visionaries who shaped it, alongside new initiatives, including watchmaking masterclasses and an interactive installation on the Audemars Piguet Foundations' global impact.
The temporary exhibition, running until 2026, invites visitors on a journey through seven stages of Audemars Piguet’s history, celebrating the craftsmanship behind its renowned timepieces. The exhibit will also travel to Shanghai in May and Dubai in November.

Qumra 2025 was a unique initiative dedicated to providing mentorship, nurturing talent, and fostering hands-on development for filmmakers from Qatar, the region, and beyond.
The event featured an exciting public program, including exclusive Master Classes with internationally acclaimed filmmakers and a showcase of exceptional feature films supported by the Doha Film Institute.
A distinguished group of internationally renowned filmmakers and creative visionaries shared their expertise in a series of Master Classes. These sessions provided invaluable guidance, inspiration, and insight to filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts.
The event celebrated the art of cinema with a curated selection of remarkable feature-length films from the region and across the world. Each film, supported by the Doha Film Institute, reflected a commitment to championing diverse voices and fostering cultural dialogue. Audiences embarked on a cinematic journey through compelling stories that inspired, entertained, and united.
Attendees experienced the full breadth of Qumra with a Qumra Pass, granting access to all Master Classes and screenings in person. With limited spaces available, early registration was encouraged.
For those unable to attend in person, the Qumra Online Pass provided virtual access to Master Classes, allowing participants to gain insights from some of the world’s most accomplished filmmakers and thought leaders.
Film enthusiasts had the option to attend select in-person screenings with individual tickets, available through the Qumra Screenings programme.
Qumra 2025 brought together storytellers, creative minds, and cinema lovers to celebrate the transformative power of film, fostering connections and inspiring new artistic perspectives.
SSalwa Beach Fest transformed the Eid holiday into an unforgettable beachside celebration!
On April 4th, families and friends gathered for a spectacular day of fun, entertainment, and adventure. The festival featured a vibrant lineup of activities, from thrilling beach sports and water sports to mesmerising performances by DJs, fire dancers, and magicians. Interactive games and family-friendly attractions kept guests engaged throughout the day, creating cherished memories by the shore.
The Fitness Zone by Beat Qatar was a highlight, offering highenergy HIIT workouts, exciting 101 challenges, and refreshing ice baths—perfect for those looking to stay active while enjoying the festivities.
Guests enjoyed a lively atmosphere, breathtaking seaside views, and an array of delicious food and drinks. With QR 200 entry per adult (fully redeemable on food and beverages) and free access for kids under 12, Salwa Beach Fest delivered the ultimate Eid experience for all!
The second edition of Visit Qatar’s Throwback Food Festival at Old Doha Port wrapped up triumphantly, attracting over 100,000 attendees. This year’s event saw increased participation, with visitors indulging in a variety of traditional delicacies from more than 20 vendors while engaging in interactive activities.
Hamad Al Khaja, Manager of Festivals & Events Delivery at Visit Qatar, expressed delight at the festival’s success, emphasising its role in bridging generations and celebrating Qatari traditions in a dynamic setting.
The festival recreated the charm of Qatar’s old souks through the Dakkan initiative, where guests enjoyed nostalgic sweets and dishes from the Tayyibin generation. Interactive competitions like the Kahoot quiz and Treasure Hunt engaged families, while Hakawati storytelling sessions and a Puppet Theatre immersed visitors in Qatari heritage.
Live folkloric performances and traditional songs added to the festive ambience, culminating in a spectacular Garangao night, which welcomed 11,000 attendees.

Azqa Haroon sits down with Bashar Hakeem, Regional Fragrance Ambassador for Guerlain, to explore the artistry behind the brand’s exquisite scents. From the inspiration behind their latest creation to expert fragrance tips, he unveils the magic of Guerlain.
QH: What inspired Guerlain’s latest fragrance?
Hakeem: Since 1828, Guerlain has drawn inspiration from nature, women, and love stories. The latest creation, L’Heure Dorée (Golden Hour), is inspired by art and culture. Lusail International Circuit (LIC) became a hub for cycling enthusiasts as it hosted an open cycling day in collaboration with the Qatar Cycling Federation (QCF). The event drew over 400 participants, offering them the rare opportunity to ride on the same track where Formula 1, MotoGP, and World Endurance Championship drivers and riders compete.
The event was divided into two main sessions. From 6pm to 8.30pm, cyclists enjoyed an open ride around the world-class circuit, taking in the exhilarating atmosphere. At 9pm, the QCF-LIC Ramadan Cycling Individual Time Trial Competition kicked off, allowing registered cyclists to test their speed and endurance on the iconic track.
In the Men’s Individual Time Trial, Qatar’s Fahed Al Khater clocked the fastest lap at an impressive 6 minutes and 32 seconds, securing first place. He was followed closely by Iran’s Abdollah Masoomi in second place and Great Britain’s Bevan James in third. In the Women’s category, Great Britain’s Daniela Sposi claimed victory with a lap time of 8 minutes and 37 seconds. Chelsea Sophia Periodico of the Philippines secured second place, while Qatar’s Lolwa Al Marri finished third.
The event marked a milestone for Qatar’s growing cycling community, showcasing the nation’s passion for the sport. Lusail International Circuit remains committed to hosting more community events, further strengthening Qatar’s position as a hub for sports and recreation.
