Dear friends, As we welcome you to our November issue we look ahead to a promising four weeks of events that matter to us as a community. World Diabetes Day marks the middle of the month on November 14 and we’re proud to dedicate our Community pages to awareness and education about the condition in Qatar. Last month The Art of Business, a subsidiary of our own AHB Group, celebrated the launch of the Salem and Sarah plush toy campaign as part of a partnership between the Qatar Diabetes Association and Sasol Qatar. These camel mascots, custom-designed by our team, offer a sense of security and comfort to young children coping with Type 1 juvenile diabetes. With zippered compartments to store their medical supplies and patches that mirror insulin injection sites, Salem and Sarah are accessible learning tools that encourage a diabetic child to be proactive about his or her health. We bring you the full story in this issue, plus information on how Type 2 diabetes in children and teens is once again in the spotlight – and how it can be prevented. Moving on to Entertainment, the Broadway production of The Sound of Music will grace the stage at the Qatar National Convention Centre this month, bringing the story of the beloved von Trapp family to national audiences – and we go behind the scenes with the cast and crew. If you were a fan of the 1965 musical film starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer then this theatrical performance will bring back memories – so take the whole family along and create some new ones! We’ve also got a host of other stories and events to keep you involved here in our pages – from an interview with AHB Group's very own General Manager – New Projects, Andrew Merris, and in Food & Dining we take a look at their newest restaurant endeavour, Crunch Cantina, to a feature that explores the underwater depths with Qatar Divers – it’s a full issue without a doubt. If you’re reading this, then we know you’ve already got your copy in hand! Thank you for making us a part of your lives,
