And after 25 minutes she has me roll over and the process repeats itself. Apparently these treatments are popular with the Hollywood set and results can be seen immediately. Nirgaza does tell me that it's meant to be results-driven as a supplement to diet and exercise. After I'm zapped on both sides she takes my measurements once again...but it seems as though I've gained half an inch rather than shrunk. I'm not quite sold on this one yet but Nirgaza tells me that once you have a full course of 9, 12 or 15 sessions the pounds will begin to melt off and the difference starkly visible.

Masters Of Massage Bliss Spa at the W Doha is the perfect place to escape the buzz and hustle of West Bay within the heart of the city. Though not as big as some other spas in town, it’s by far the funkiest. I visited Bliss to try their Signature Massage and a 30-minute Oxygen Blast Facial. Upon arrival I got to chill out for a few minutes before my treatment at the lounge – which kinds of reminds me of the cabanas in Wahm. My aesthetician soon comes to guide me to the treatment room, which is very futuristic with white and light-blue colours dominating the space and making you feel comfortable and stress-free. BLISS SPA New-Age Bliss If there's one thing the W Doha can be sure of, it's living up to the hype of its brand. The world over, W properties are synonymous with edgy luxury and anything-goes indulgence. Today we're at their Bliss Spa to try two cutting-edge treatments –one a fan favourite and the other a new, celebrityendorsed trend. To start, I'll be having their signature Triple-Oxygen Facial and I quickly head back to the dressing room to get ready. I love the fresh, funky vibe of Bliss. From its array of complimentary items in the dressing area (mouthwash and hair mousse!), and their cheeky-fun names, to the platter of gooeysweet chocolate brownies in the brightly-hued waiting area, it's just a cut above. I start the Triple-Oxygen Facial with my therapist Jade who tells me it's one of their most popular. In
She starts with an intensive cleaning and exfoliation from Bliss' own Triple-Oxygen line, followed by a mushroom amino-acid peel to strip away the top-most layers of dead skin-cells. This is followed by a nourishing oxygen wrap and extraction of blemishes. (An uncomfortable but necessary part of the process!). To soothe redness Jade applies a calming oxygen and Vitamin C mask and gives me a sublime head massage while it sets. The treatment finishes with a hydrating enzyme pack and vitamin oxygen spray. Plump and dewy, my skin feels as though it's had a long, tall glass of water and then went back for seconds. After the facial I nip over to a futuristic room where next I'll be trying their new Zerona Slimming & Contouring cold laser treatment. Full disclosure – the word laser made me nervous. The Blissage Signature Massage is designed to promote general relaxation and to nourish the skin and improve blood-circulation. For me it felt like a combination of Swedish and deep-tissue massage. The pressure applied was light and involved stretching out my legs and hands to loosen my joints and tight muscles. After the massage I switch rooms for my 30-minute Oxygen Blast Facial, which is popular among celebrities. The aesthetician first cleanses my skin before analyzing it to determine which infusion would suit me best, depending on the kind of results I wanted. For me I hoped to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while enhancing my skin’s overall hydration. The oxygen is delivered via a sort of wand, and the results are impressive and immediate. I leave feeling glowing and refreshed – sheer Bliss!
