Cowpokes to return to Casino Star Theater GUNNISON — Two Cowboy Headliners, Brenn Hill and Andy Nelson, return to Gunnison’s historic Casino Star Theatre with Cowboys in Concert at 7 p.m. this Friday. Friday’s two real-life cowpoke entertainers have received top awards across the country for their original showcase of western music, humor, tall tales, and cowboy poetry of the American West. Back by popular demand, this will be the cowpokes fourth appearance at the Casino Star. “We love coming to Gunnison,” says cowboy poet and humorist Andy Nelson. “The audience is
always so welcoming, and everyone treats us so nice!” Nelson, a second-generation farrier from Wyoming, is cohost of the weekly syndicated radio show Clear Out West (C.O.W.) that can be heard regularly on Manti’s KMTI. Named numerous times as Western Music Association’s “Male Poet of the Year”, Nelson offers history, heritage, and hilarity of the cowboy culture through traditional poetry and storytelling. Western Horseman Magazine writes, “One of the most dynamic cowboy entertainers today, Nelson’s vivid descriptions, voice inflec-

tions and fluid recitation bring his stories to life in listeners’ imaginations.” The second member of this popular western duo is acclaimed Utah based singer-songwriter and small-town rancher, Brenn Hill. Praised as “one of the most talented singer-songwriters in the contemporary cowboy music scene” by Western Horseman Magazine, Hill is not just an observer or narrator of western lore, but one of its strongest interpreters. A multiple Academy of Western Artists award winner, Hill’s career spans over two decades on the road with twelve re-
cordings of mostly self-penned music. Tickets for this family-friendly duo are available for $15 for ages 16 and older and $10 for ages 15 and under. A family pass for members of the same household that includes parent(s) and their own kids 18 years and younger will top out at $50. General Admission Tickets are available in Gunnison at Rasmussen’s Ace Hardware, G.I.C. and the Casino Star Theatre’s Box Office daily from 6-9 p.m. For more information or tickets by phone, call Lori (435) 9799235.
