2025 DANCE SHOWCASE
FROM THE HEAD OF DANCE
The well-known phrase, “5, 6, 7, 8...” prepares every dancer for the complexity of the rhythms in our routines and choreography. It is the precursor to emotive expression, and the attention-grabber that brings focus to every dancer just as she is about to launch into her performance. Across our studios, this cue is estimated to be said about 29,000 times a year, a reminder that in these four counts we come together, ready to move as one.
The Beat of Time is the perfect theme as we celebrate a milestone for Pymble Dance — preparing to open the brandnew Pymble Dance Centre in January 2026. This facility is going to bring our program under one roof and enhance our strong Dance culture at Pymble.
Across seven performances, audiences will journey through the eras of music and movement, exploring how rhythm, style, and expression have evolved over time. It has been a joy to hear some of our old favourite songs return to our stage and to witness iconic movement influencers recognised and celebrated by our 700 dance students.
As you switch off from your day for this performance, let our dancers lift your spirits, tug at your heartstrings, and invite you to reminisce, as they bring their Beat of Time routines to life on our stage.
It is an honour to lead Pymble Dance, guiding such talented dancers and working alongside a remarkable team to bring this showcase to life.
I would especially like to thank our Dance Student Leadership Team — Ruby Scarf, Teagan Ning, Stella Boyle, and Alanah Scott — who have pushed the beat in advocating for the launch of the first Pymble Dance Pin. Each new Captain team leaves their mark, shaping the program, inspiring their peers, and creating milestones that will be remembered for years to come.
Finally, thank you to our key dance staff team: Miss Lucy Eaton, Miss Laura Fishwick, Miss Genevieve Gardiner, Ms Samantha Hibburt, Mrs Alysha Marsden, Miss Sarah McGeoch, Mrs Keya Pettigrew, and Mr Jackson Reedman, whose talent, creativity, and dedication have been the base support for all Pymble Dance events and programming this year. Thank you to our leaders Mr Greg Meagher and Mr Kurt Schweinberger for their continued support.
Beyond our core team, I want to thank every College Department that supports Pymble Dance. From the Theatre Staff to IT, Co-curricular Administration, Facilities, Community Engagement and beyond, we lean on many departments regularly for assistance.
We hope our dancers enjoy every moment on stage and feel proud of their achievements. We also hope our dancers’ passion and creativity continue to inspire long after the final beat of this performance.

EISTEDDFOD GROUP AWARDS
MOST OUTSTANDING (TROPHY)
The Most Outstanding Award will be awarded to a student in each Eisteddfod group who has demonstrated outstanding technique and performance quality for that style and level.
MOST IMPROVED (TROPHY)
The Most Improved Award will be awarded to a student in each Eisteddfod group who has demonstrated significant improvement in their technique and performance quality for that style and level.
DANCERS’ DANCER (SECONDARY EISTEDDFOD ONLY) (AWARD SASH)
The Dancers’ Dancer Award will be awarded to a student in each Eisteddfod group who has been nominated by their peers in their group as an exceptional team member. Current (2025/2026) Co-curricular Dance Captains are not eligible.
PERFORMANCE TROUPE AWARDS
OUTSTANDING EFFORT (TROPHY)
The encouragement award will be awarded to one student from each Performance Troupe who has demonstrated significant growth, enthusiasm and promise.
VET IN DANCE (CERTIFICATE)
All students who complete their Certificate I, II or Certificate III in Assistant Dance Teaching course will be awarded the Nationally Recognised Qualification from EMPOWER DANCE.
MAJOR AWARDS
CERT IN DANCE WITH EXCELLENCE (Certificate and Award).
The Excellence Award will be awarded to students who submitted coursework demonstrating academic rigor and outstanding dance knowledge and skills.
MAGIC MOMENT (JEWELLERY)
The Magic Moment award is awarded to a student who produces moment/s of excellence and improvement during the year both on and offstage. This is for a student who is noticed by Dance Staff to have hit a new significant peak in their dancing.
OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION (TROPHY)
The Outstanding Participation award is to acknowledge the contribution students have made to Pymble Dance. To qualify for this award a student’s participation in Co-curricular Dance during their years at Pymble form Year 7 onwards is tallied via a point system gaining points per class that they have participated in. A student must be in Year 12 to be considered for this award and meet the minimum points.
RAISE THE BAR (JEWELLERY)
The Raise the Bar Award recognises a student’s progressive achievements, resilience, and commitment, encouraging them to persist in their journey of pushing boundaries, fostering personal growth, and inspiring others to follow suit.
PERFORMER OF THE YEAR
Secondary Jazz, Secondary Contemporary, Junior Jazz, Junior Lyrical (Shield, Trophy and $150 Dance Attire Gift Voucher)
Performers of the Year are students who have displayed outstanding technique in their style, have performed exceptionally and have demonstrated improvement, dedication, and spirit. The criteria for Performer of the Year includes 10 different categories including: Technique, Musicality, Performance Quality, Endurance, Improvement, In-Class Performance consistency, Onstage Performance consistency, Choreography Retention, Attendance and Attitude.
ARTISTRY IN DANCE (TROPHY)
This award is for a student who has demonstrated significant Dance Artistry across both HSC Dance and Eisteddfod Dance. The student achieves excellence in choreography and performance as an individual and in a team.

JUNIOR EISTEDDFOD TEAM
Our Junior dancers took part in a guided studio photoshoot during the Intensive Weekend, capturing professional headshots and dance poses that celebrate their individuality and growing confidence as performers. The session allowed students to explore expression through movement and showcase their progress and artistry across the year.

As our dancers prepare to take to the stage for their 2025 Dance Showcase, excitement is also building for the opening of our highly anticipated Pymble Dance Centre, a world-class, purpose-built space to inspire creativity, confidence and connection through dance.
Located on Level 1 of Grey House Precinct, the Pymble Dance Centre will be one of the largest and most well-equipped dance facilities in Australia, and the new home for our thriving community of more than 800 passionate dance students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
A LEGACY THAT SHINES BRIGHT
As the curtain rises on a new era of dance at Pymble, we warmly invite our community to be part of its story. A limited number of Dance Centre Stars and Dance Studio Seats remain available to honour your dancer’s journey and support the future of Dance at Pymble. New Scholarship Opportunity Performance Scholarship – Performing Arts
Pymble Ladies’ College offers a small number of Performance Scholarships – Performing Arts, providing full or part remission from academic tuition fees (excluding extras) to students entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 in 2027 in Dance, Drama and/ or Music (Vocalist).
