5-Year Award

Congratulations to Tim Yogerst, second from left, on 5 years of service to the Town. Tim is the PV Animal Control Supervisor, a position he quickly achieved after starting as an Animal Control Officer five years ago. Tim is known for his ability to wrangle any number of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, owls, snakes and more!

Local teen Justin Berry took on a big project to earn his Eagle Scout designation. Council honored Justin at a meeting on Nov. 10. Justin coordinated the fundraising and building of a Veterans flag memorial "Flags of Gratitude" at American Legion Park

Farewell Councilman Roger Kinsinger

Prescott Valley Town Councilmember Roger Kinsinger resigned from his seat and was honored by Council during a Nov. 28 special meeting. Councilman Kinsinger and his wife Judy will be returning to Iowa due to family circumstances Kinsinger and his wife moved to Prescott Valley in 2016. He was elected and took his seat on Town Council in January, 2021. A US Army veteran who fought in Vietnam, Kinsinger is a member of VFW Post 10227 and American Legion Post 140. He has also served as a member of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce, CASA Senior Center, and the Heights Church.

Council will be undergoing a process in December to appoint a new member who will fulfill Kinsinger's term, which ends in December 2024.

Prescott Valley Police to be equipped with body-worn cameras

Prescott Valley Police officers are now being equipped with Body Worn Cameras to enhance officer and community safety. Town Council in August 2022, approved a 10-year, $2.7 million contract with Axon Enterprises for 87 Body Worn Cameras, 80 new updated Taser energy weapons, and associated equipment for the Prescott Valley Police Department. PD has hired an additional staff person to assist with review and redaction of the resulting video.

Welcome new lateral police officer Grant Pithie!

Welcome to new lateral Prescott Valley Police Officer Grant Pithie. Grant comes to our department most recently from New York, but via South Africa, where he directed a private SWAT security team, and served as an officer and sergeant with the South African Police Grant brings a wealth of experience to our department, including extensive SWAT and other training tactics. He said his primary goal was to become a police officer in the U.S., and sees being an officer as a "calling, never just a job." Grant graduated NARTA academy this month and is now in Field Training
