MJP provides in season and off season training programs, biomechanical analysis, remote coaching, physical therapy and injury prevention programs for youth, college, and professional athletes and teams. Our training programs are based on a proven successful philosophy and designed to help athletes achieve their goals and reach improved levels of achievement. There is no other training facility in the world like MJP — one of only three training centers with a Nike Sensory Sports Training module in the World. No other facility with the knowledge, training regimen or discipline of one of history’s greatest Olympians. No other facility where programs are designed to help athletes of all ages maximize every ounce of their potential.


MICHAEL JOHNSON 13-TIME OLYMPIC & WORLD CHAMPION TRAINING WITH THE BEST Michael Johnson is a 4-time Olympic Gold medalist, 9-time World Champion, and world record holder. During his 11 year career Michael established a record of 13 Olympic and World Championship medals, all of them gold. Michael represented the USA in the Olympics on three occasions: Barcelona 1992 winning gold in the 4x400 meter relay, Atlanta 1996 winning gold at 200 meters and 400 meters, and Sydney 2000 winning gold again at 400 meters. During his career Michael broke world records in the 200 meters, 400 meters, and 4x400 meter relay. He became known as the Fastest Man in the World in 1996 when completing the historic 200/400 meter Olympic double recording the fastest time ever clocked by a human, running 23 mph en route to his 200 world record performance of 19.32 seconds. Michael added the 400 meter world record in 1999 clocking 43.18 seconds. After his retirement in 2001, Michael started Michael Johnson Performance to help train other athletes to reach their full potential using the same training philosophy and training techniques he used to achieve unprecedented success.

IN-HOUSE PHYSICAL THERAPY

At MJP physical therapy is an integral part of our training. Our fully staffed physical therapy clinic works in conjunction with our performance training staff to insure that our training programs are safe and affective. Our Performance Therapy programs are designed to help transition injured athletes back to competition quicker and more effectively.

YOUTH TRAINING LEARN TO TRAIN (AGES 9-11)

• 12 sessions (60 minutes each) 2 days a week for 6 weeks

HIGH SCHOOL PREP (AGES 12-14) AND COLLEGE PREP ATHLETES (AGES 15-18)

• 18 sessions (90 minutes each) Two options: 3 days a week for 6 weeks or2 days a week for 9 weeks

• 12 sessions (90 minutes each) 3 days a week for 4 weeks

CORE CONCEPTS: Focus, Self Control, Routines, Imagery, Confidence/Trust, Goal Setting, Perspective, Positive Self-Talk.

NUTRITION

Sports nutrition and eating to fuel your workouts and improve sports performance can be complicated. In order to help our athletes make sense of this expansive topic and get them on a healthy eating path, Michael Johnson Performance offers Sports Nutrition evaluation, consultation and meal planning. Our sports dietician provides our athletes with the option to gain the knowledge and learn how to implement proper nutrition into their lifestyle.

We specialize in building SPEED, AGILITY, STRENGTH, and STAMINA for improved athletic performance on the field, track, or court. Through this unique partnership, Dallas Cowboys players and training staff leverage the proprietary training programs and technology offered by MJP. MJP provides pre and post season comprehensive individual and team evaluations for use by the Stars coaching and training staff. MJP is responsible for the daily strength and conditioning of the team as well as game day preparation and off-season maintenance and development. MJP has quickly established itself as one of the premier training programs chosen by many NFL first round draft picks.


LANCE WALKER

DIRECTOR OF PERFORMANCE Lance is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and a Registered Physical Therapist in the state of Texas. He previously served as Director of Performance Training at Integrated Athletic Development responsible for the training and/or physical rehabilitation needs of over 50 active professional athletes from the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, MLS, PGA, CBA, and CFL. Lance served three seasons as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Dallas Cowboys. Lance brings an extensive background in strength and conditioning and sports medicine at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Prior to joining the Dallas Cowboys, Lance held performance trainer positions at the University of Oklahoma and the Casady School (OK), where he worked directly with athletes across many sports, including football, basketball, track, golf, gymnastics, and wrestling, among others. A 1993 graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Lance earned three varsity football letters and attained Academic All-Big 8 honors as a receiver. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Oklahoma. A well-recognized authority in his field, Lance has contributed to over 10 professional publications in sport science and presented at over 15 national conferences.

MJP uses the latest technology, including computerized video analysis which allows us to track and monitor physical movement to 1000 frames per second. While the experience of the MJP staff is unparalleled, when you add to that theability to use high tech video analysis and our own in-house computerized video movement specialist to teach and demonstrate to our athletes proper efficient movement, then you have the most effective combination for teaching and training for improved speed, acceleration, deceleration, and multi-directional quickness.


NIKE SST VISION TRAINING

Michael Johnson Performance Center is the only independent performance training center in the worldoffering sport vision training. No other training center can match the benefit we offer to our athletes in this unique training that puts athletes through a battery of visual tests to set a baseline for their vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and timing abilities. MJP’s Nike SST program has helped many of our athletes improve the visual skills required to play their sport or position at the highest level.

CRAIG RANCH COMMUNITY MJP sits at the heart of Craig Ranch, a 2,200 acre master-planned community in McKinney, TX. MJP is at the heart of the Craig Ranch Sport Complex giving our athletes access to world class sporting venues such as a major Baseball complex, Soccer complex, Ice Hockey rink, Olympic sized swimming pool at the Cooper center and a top rated PGA tour golf course.

COOPER FITNESS CENTER Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch is a 75,000-square-foot health and fitness complex featuring state-of-the-art equipment, highly trained professionals and a support staff committed to excellent customer service.

TPC GOLF COURSE One of only 19 clubs in the prestigious PGA-TPC club network, The TPC golf course at Craig Ranch was designed by Tom Weiskopf. A breath taking course beautifully built around the rolling hills and mature woods surrounding Rowlett Creek.

THE BEACH

The DR PEPPER STARCENTER houses two sheets of competition ice. Local Ice hockey teams, skating clubs and The Dallas Stars all train here.

The Beach at Craig Ranch is one of the premier athletic facilities for beach sports. The Beach offers 12 pristine sand courts that can move seamlessly between beach volleyball, beach tennis, beach soccer, among other fun sports and activities.

BALL FIELDS Craig Ranch boasts 14 youth ball fields and a championship field with seating for 2,500 people.

SOCCER FIELDS Opened in 2005 Craig Ranch has 12 lighted soccer fields with bleachers and a championship field with seating for 1,000 spectators.

HOSPITAL AT CRAIG RANCH Located adjacent to MJP the hospital at Craig Ranch offers full medical services including sports orthopedic specialists.
