FROM AIRSTREAM TO ART

Every cowboy has to have his hat! We’re especially fond of Cofer Hat Company, a small hat shop owned and operated by husband-and-wife team John and Gina Cofer. John, the hatter, takes pride in handcrafting one-of-a-kind heirloom pieces with the highest quality materials. “Having the opportunity to create and share my art with others has been a lifelong dream of mine,” he says. Originally hailing from the southeast, John is also a mixed martial artist, ceramist, potter, carpenter, and firefighter—he’s worn many hats, he jokes. John started experimenting in his Airstream trailer when he couldn’t quite find the perfect hat—and today, the company operates out of a charming shop in the hills of Livingston, between Bozeman and Paradise Valley. Browse online for his fan-favorite palm leaf hats or make an appointment for a custom beaver felt piece. Every hat is blocked, stitched, sanded, and shaped in-house. Accessorize with earrings and other merchandise, including crisply designed art t-shirts.
