SCHOOL SPIRIT FUELS COMMUNITY

Montanans take school pride seriously—whether they’re Missoula Grizzlies fans pledging fierce allegiance to the University of Montana or cheering for the blue-and-gold Montana State University Bobcats. Like all rivalries, it’s a good-natured but deeply serious affair. At MSU in Bozeman, a generation of young minds push the boundaries of their fields, compete in athletic endeavors across the country, and overall bring so much energy to the community. The campus is an anchor on the southern edge of downtown, with highlights including the new American Indian Hall, the recently renovated Romney Hall, and the famous duck pond, where there’s always a nice tree to sit underneath. Check the calendar of events to see what visiting scholars, artists, and other lecturers are coming to town. This hub of knowledge, culture, and Montana heritage is a major driver of the economy and bridge between the community and the broader world.
