Going After the Culprits

The Provincial Investigation Division Management Unit (PIDMU) of Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) has the mandate to direct and supervise the investigations of crimes and other offenses in violation of the laws of the Philippines and maintain, collect and process Crime Statistics for ready reference. Is bound up in ensuring public safety and reducing fear and crime incidents in the community. INPPO are equipped with skills, knowledge and confidence in performing their sworn duties and responsibilities as law enforcers. As such, INPPO constantly conducting patrolling, police presence and information dissemination to the community regarding crimepreventiontips.

Aspartoftheanti-criminalityprogram, the INPPO strengthens close coordination with AFP counterpart, intelligence community, LGUs, Barangay officials, utilization of BINs and non-government stakeholders to preempt/deter/monitor possibletargetsbyanythreatgroups.

Situationupdate

The Peace and Order Situation in the ProvinceofIlocosNorteremainedgenerally peaceful. There are 394 crime incidents recorded January 1, 2022- June 30, 2022, whiletherearerecorder390Crimeincidents fromJanuary1,2023-June30,2023.

Of which, 191 are Peace and Order Indicator and 115 Public Safety Indicator in 2023 and 254Peace andOrder Indicatorand 73PublicSafetyIndicatorforthepreviousyear.

On focus crimes, there is an increase of 17 incidents compared with the previous period covered. In 2022 there were 67 incidentsrecordedwhile84wererecordedin thepresentyear.

The INPPO conducted numerous police operations such as Implementation ofWarrantofArrest,SearchWarrant,illegalDrugs Operations and other violation of Special laws as part of the intensified law enforcement activity of the organization. ThisINPPOreligiouslyconductsoperations tomaintainpeaceandorder.

Of the 390 incidents, 359 were cleared cases, 292 were solved cases registering a Crime Clearance Efficiency of 92% and Crime Solution Efficiency of 75% with an Average Monthly Crime Rate of 9.89. For the Peace and Order Indicator,therewere390crimeincidents recorded in January 1, 2022- June 30, 2022 which is lower by 4 or 9% compare ofthesameperiodJanuary1, 2023-June 30,2023.

The INPPO, assures the public that there is certainty of arrest when a crime iscommittedin their area ofresponsibility and will remain steadfast in maintaining public order and safety, enforcing the rule oflaw while the community are reminded to be vigilant and immediately report any suspiciouspersonandanyillegalactivities.
