n t re p re n e u r a n d fashion designer Wayne Hemingway is to be the guest speaker at this year’s Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards. His career in fashion began when he started to sell some of his and his girlfriend’s old wardrobes, which were full of hand-made and vintage clothing, at a market. With his future wife, he then built Red or Dead into a worldwide label and, after 21 seasons on the catwalk, it was sold in a multi-millionpound deal. They went on to found HemingwayDesign with a mantra of Design is about improving things that matter in life and over the past two decades it has delivered many high profile and award-winning affordable new-build housing schemes, transformed housing estates and delivered a series of seaside regeneration projects. Nicholas Mann, chair of awards organisers Milton
organisations who entered this year focused their submissions around this subject. Anita Nadkarni, chair of the judging panel, said: “The judging panel had a really tough job this year. “There were so many excellent submissions that really show the breadth and depth of the business
community in Milton Keynes. It was also humbling to see how many businesses had taken on board the environmental theme of this year’s awards, giving us all a positive outlook for the future.” The awards ceremony will be hosted by radio broadcaster Tony Dibbin.
