Challenges Under Pandemic Unity Through Thick And Thin

During the pandemic, MFA did not forget to provide assistance to vulnerable groups in society. In order to reduce the cost of COVID-19 testing for furniture industry workers, MFA partnered with BP LAB to alleviate the burden on individuals. Additionally, other stakeholders of Muar sought help from MFA, and the organisation provided reasonable assistance to them as a gesture of corporate social responsibility back to the community.

Additionally, MFA donated resources such as furniture, rice, and water to families in need. They also donated medical equipment such as ventilators and hospital beds to clinics and hospitals. During the pandemic, Muar also experienced a major flood. MFA continued to contribute to society by donating beds, blankets, food, and other necessities to the flood victims.

In June, MFA applied for the PIKAS program from the relevant authorities to ensure that all workers in furniture factories could receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This was done to achieve herd immunity quickly and ensure everyone’s safety. MFA coordinated the vaccination schedule and prioritisation for workers in different factories in advance. They also required all workers to wear masks and gloves, and the factories were thoroughly disinfected before the vaccination process. MFA’s presence facilitated a smooth vaccination campaign.

The furniture industry in Muar is the main economic source for the region and brings prosperity and vitality to the area. Muar has blossomed into a beautiful land, nurtured by the splendour of the furniture industry and the efforts of industry members.
