As part of the highly successful Bohunt Education Trust, we use the long standing Bohunt Sixth Form model Graded Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024, students perform significantly above national average across all measures, with a third of the grades awarded in 2024 being A* or A at A level.

Curriculum

Bohunt Wokingham Sixth provides a bespoke curriculum to meet the specific aspirations and needs of our students We offer four programmes of study that are tailored to the strengths and abilities of each individual student This offers great challenge for learners and enables all students to gain an understanding of their subject in the depth required at A level Many students are offered the opportunity to study further broadening qualifications in addition to their three A levels All four routes are intended to run over two academic years

Subjects

We are proud to offer a wide range of A level subjects that form the main body of the programme of study and are taught by expert classroom teachers with specialist knowledge. A full course list including entry requirements and subjects offered can be found in the course directory on our website.

The four programmes of study are outlined below:

Pastoral Care & Student Wellbeing

Our Sixth Form pastoral team are there to support students throughout their time with us. This includes providing guidance for life events or to assist students with their studies. We provide welcoming spaces for one to one sessions and group activities meaning all students can learn in an environment where they feel supported.

Our Sixth Form is open to both internal Bohunt Wokingham students and Year 11 students from other schools There is an active social calendar with events planned throughout the year There are always opportunities to make new friends for life

Whatever your aspirations, Bohunt Wokingham Sixth will support and prepare you for the next stage. From the very beginning of your time in the Sixth Form, we will get to know you as an individual and your future ambitions. As part of our programme of study, we will run specific courses to support the following:

Specialist Oxbridge preparation through our Aspire to Oxbridge programme. Specific support for medical and veterinary applications

Co-curricular, trips and visits

Bohunt has a reputation for providing an unrivalled range of opportunities for our students and life in the Sixth Form continues to offer young people the chance to flourish and develop outside the classroom years. We encourage our students to challenge and expand their horizons by participating in activities across their two years with us

Sport

There are regular sports fixtures (rugby, football, athletics, netball, racket sports and many more) and students compete against other sixth form teams predominantly on a Wednesday afternoon. For students who do not wish to participate in fixtures, there is a range of physical education opportunities which will be offered each week.

Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

Open to Year 12 students, this challenging programme of activities enables young people to learn skills and develop a sense of adventure.

Work experience

All students have the opportunity to undertake work experience during Year 12 This is an opportunity to develop employability skills and confidence in a workplace environment

Community and charity involvement

Our sixth form students take active leadership roles across the whole school and there are opportunities for volunteering in the local community. Throughout the year the Sixth Form organises exciting fundraising events to support local and national charities.
