Nostalgia & Wanderlust TWO MINUTES WITH Emilie Ristevski As a photographer, what are some of your favourite Queensland locations to shoot? One of my favourite spots to photograph is hidden within Lamington National Park – the whole landscape that surrounds this place is magical!
What do you think makes QLD so unique? The diversity of the landscape – from the beautiful blue oceans to the lush rainforests and dry, rugged, mountains ranges. There are so many unique spots all over that I would love to get lost in.
During an extremely cold winter’s afternoon/night, with no end destination in mind, we jumped in the car and chose a direction to explore. After a long drive out west, we ended up near Mount Barney National Park. Surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks, golden grass and wrapped up from the cold, we watched as the sun slowly set.
“As we continued exploring into the night we realised how bright and clear the sky was, with nearly all the stars shining. It was quiet and cold, and as we looked up into the sky – with the Milky Way right above us – we counted the stars.” Emilie Ristevski is a wandering creative based along the East Coast of Australia, whose practice spans across storytelling, styling and photography.
