On the road to a new career CONSIDERING a career in automotive? Get behind the wheel of your career at the Traineeship and Apprentice evening this July at Wangaratta Toyota. From a career in sales and administration through to fabricating and welding, paint and panel apprenticeships, automotive or heavy vehicle apprenticeships, motorcycle apprenticeships or construction or even agricultural machinery apprenticeships, there is a career path to suit everyone. Ashton Siperki was excited to join the team at Wangaratta Toyota after completing his VCE in 2021 and works in a sales role. “The best part of my job is in dealing with a huge range of customers and colleagues,” he said. “It is a really good team environment and I enjoy the people I get to work with. “It’s a great community to be involved in. “There is always something to do in this job, and I
particularly enjoy how fastpaced the sales role is.” Jon York has been a senior technician in the Nissan and Subaru Workshop at Wangaratta Motor Group for more than nine years. “The role of a technician has changed a lot since I started my apprenticeship,” Jon said. “There are more areas you need to be skilled in, with hybrid and electric cars becoming more popular. “I enjoy the challenge this presents, especially when I can take someone’s headache and solve their car problem. “I find it really rewarding.” Wangaratta Motor Group has a range of traineeship and apprenticeship options launching in 2022 so join them at their interactive and hands-on Information workshop this July. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths and chat with the friendly staff about their experience working in the automotive industry.
