THE PROVIDENCE VILLAGE OPPORTUNITY

Providence Village is located in Katarokwi, on the unceded ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat Peoples— a place that has long been home to diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. With humility and respect, we express our gratitude to Indigenous Peoples for their stewardship of these lands since time immemorial and we honour their deep connection to the land.

We are grateful for the land’s nourishment and gifts and recognize our shared responsibility to protect and sustain the land for all our relations, now and for generations to come. We acknowledge the profound and lasting impacts of colonization on Indigenous Peoples and commit to meaningful reconciliation. Our commitment extends beyond words—we strive to listen, learn, and walk together with Indigenous communities and to actively and intentionally contribute to a future of healing that upholds Indigenous rights, cultures, and traditions.

Providence Village is a welcoming community where partners provide complementary care and services to support the health and wellness of people across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington— an inclusive space where individuals and families can find hope, belonging, and wellbeing.

A community of mission-aligned partners

We offer below-market, cost-recovery sublease opportunities to organizations who support the health and wellness needs of people in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.

We are seeking partners—particularly not-for-profit organizations—whose work aligns with our mission of supporting individuals and families across the continuum of care and wellness. Whether you offer health or social services, educational opportunities, housing, community development or wellness programming, Providence Village may be the right place to grow your impact.

We’re looking for partners who:

Share our values and vision. This commitment reflects the spirit of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, whose legacy of compassion and service shapes the Village.

Put people first. While not-for-profit and for-profit organizations are welcome, priority is given to non-profits that serve the health and wellness needs of our community.

Value sustainability. Our cost-recovery rental model keeps rates affordable and ensures shared resources are used wisely so that together, we can keep serving the community for years to come.

Work within a shared ethical framework. As a Catholic-sponsored organization operating on land owned by the Catholic Church, Providence Village and all subtenants are expected to respect the ethical principles of the Health Ethics Guide of the Catholic Health Alliance of Canada.

GREEN SPACE & PARKING

Rooted in the longstanding commitment of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, we are dedicated to environmental stewardship and the thoughtful preservation of our natural surroundings. This commitment shapes our vision for a healthy, sustainable, and welcoming community.

We are proud to offer dedicated green spaces including walking paths, gardens, and forested areas that invite subtenants, staff, visitors and guests to connect with nature. These spaces are designed to support wellness, reflection, and a sense of belonging. As the Village evolves, we remain committed to preserving 30% of our site as green space and to investing in reforestation and regreening efforts to ensure the land continues to thrive.

Providence Village provides designated onsite parking areas for subtenants, Sisters, staff, and guests. As the Village continues to grow, we are exploring sustainable parking solutions that balance accessibility with environmental and operational goals, while continuing to meet the needs of everyone who lives, works, or visits the Village. In alignment with our cost-recovery model and commitment to long-term sustainability, future parking fees will be introduced to help manage demand and maintain infrastructure.

ROOM BOOKINGS

Providence Village offers a range of shared spaces within the Motherhouse that are available for booking by both subtenants and community members. Rooms can be reserved on an hourly or daily basis, with flexible arrangements to accommodate different schedules, group sizes, and uses from meetings and workshops to programming and events.

This approach allows subtenants to access boardrooms or other gathering spaces as needed so they’re not paying to lease space they don’t use regularly. Our below-market rates ensure space remains accessible for both subtenants and community groups without long-term commitments.

At first, the Alzheimer Society of KFL&A was drawn to Providence Village for practical reasons: its central location, space for groups and parking for the community we serve. As we pass our two-year anniversary in our new space, it is clear it was a great choice. The building with its sunny rooms looking onto beautiful green spaces is well taken care of, we have access to the main building reception, as well as cleaning, maintenance, and catering services as needed and there is an overall feeling of caring from the entire Providence Village team.
