Up Front

BACCALAUREATE SUNDAY

Join us on June 4 as we celebrate our graduating seniors at 10:30 a.m. in worship. This is a meaningful service meant for the entire Providence family! There will be a Baccalaureate Family luncheon following worship at 12 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for graduates and their families.

COLLEGE GRADUATE SUNDAY

On June 18, we will honor and celebrate our College and Graduate School graduates. As we recognize their accomplishments, we will also commission them as leaders within the church and in the world. Did you graduate College or Graduate School this spring or summer?

Contact Caitie Jackson at cjackson@providencebc.org by June 9.

From the Student Minister

In the “Providence Will…” Strategic Plan, one of the five main emphases is Sending Apostles. And as a part of that goal, we are to encourage and train those who are called to vocational ministry. This summer, we welcome Mallory Challis to the staff of Providence Baptist as a Summer Ministry Intern. Mallory holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious and Philosophical studies from Wingate University, where she was a Food and Faith Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, as well as Assistant Editor of the Wingate Research Review. She is the Clemons Fellow for Baptist News Global, a publication for which she is a regular columnist. Mallory

will continue her education in the fall at Wake Forest University’s School of Divinity.

Mallory has been active in a number of Wingate’s Student Ministries, including the Cooperative Baptist Student Fellowship. Her CBSF College Minister, Caitie Jackson, says “Mallory brings an invaluable presence to the table. She embodies leadership through listening, learning, and empowering those around her to feel known and seen. Mallory has been one of my greatest joys at CBSF Wingate and I look forward to witnessing her continued growth at Providence!”

As a part of her internship, she will focus on building relationships

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

VBS Week is almost here! On June 19-23 we will be learning that everyone can make a difference in the world at Changemakers Lab! Pray for our VBS children, volunteers and staff as we share the love of Jesus this week. Check our weekly emails for updated information.

with students, families, and volunteers, help organize and plan events, and attend summer camp and the high school mission trip. While she will be working mostly in the Student Ministry, Mallory has interests in multiple areas of ministry and will integrate those aspects into her summer experience. “I am excited to join Providence Baptist’s team as a Summer Ministry Intern,” Mallory says. “I am eager to learn about the diverse components of ministry.”
