We are a team focused on helping customers reduce their reliance on plastic, and become more sustainable and efficient in their packing process. Initiated by customer led projects, Protega have become known for producing user friendly and cost effective void fill solutions.

Protega manufacture their equipment in Andover UK, entirely from locally sourced parts. Together with the Hexcel that we manufacture in-house, and the Protega paper, all is UK manufactured reducing businesses carbon footprint and providing a secure supply chain. We strive to bring the most cost effective, sustainable packaging solutions to improve businesses sustainability.

Protega are focussed on helping businesses become more sustainable in their packaging. This includes eliminating plastic packaging, and reducing the amount of packaging required to protect goods in transit. Protega also helps customers find ways to offset rising packaging costs by speeding up the pack process, with integration and standardised packing methods.

By manufacturing in-house, we are able to reduce the climate impact of our customers packaging products. Removing plastic packaging will help reduce carbon emissions and the risk of contamination to the environment. We offer paper alternatives that are both sustainable and in most cases offers more cost effective protection than their plastic counterparts.

PROTEGA PROTECT

The ‘Protega Protect’ is a unique desktop paper machine producing high volume ‘on demand’ protective paper packaging.

The footprint of the slimline Protega machine is not much larger than an office printer and fits easily into even the smallest despatch area. Alternatively, it can be placed on a height adjustable stand and integrated into a packing line.

One unique feature is that the paper rolls are prefolded. This means they are easier to handle than traditional wide paper rolls, enabling the machine to be manufactured to a very small footprint of only 635mm x 360mm and at a weight of only 50kg.

The Protega paper machine produces a paper cushion equivalent to the strongest on the market, but within a much smaller footprint, and with optimal use of paper.

Your eco-friendly alternative to plastic bubble wrap.

Hexcel Wrap really needs to be seen to be believed! It is supplied as a flat sheet which then becomes three dimensional simply by stretching it. Effortlessly it can be wrapped around products and the layers build up to offer protection as good as plastic bubble!

Hexcel is dispensed from a small manual tensioning device which can be deployed anywhere, without the requirement for electricity. Hexcel wrap is easy stretch and easy tear. Once stretched around the product you simply tear the paper, and the paper interlocks on itself. No need for adhesive tape! Not only does this reduces plastic use but also reduces pack times by up to 50%. Unlike any other paper bubble wrap with no adhesive tape required, making it easier for your customers to unwrap the products too!

At Protega we take the process from concept through to completion using our Solid Works CAD design package which enables us to provide you with visualisations of your customised design. This includes maximising the storage and positioning of supplies and equipment. In many cases, we have been able to virtually double the output of a packing area by reducing operator movement whilst enhancing working environment.

HEXCEL BENCH

Increase efficiency with the integrated Hexcel bench.

The use of Hexcel Wrap – a paper alternative to bubble wrap – has been made even easier with the development of an integrated dispenser. Housed under the bench, the Hexcel paper is simply passed through a pair of rollers and dispensed onto the bench at the optimal position for the packers.

This design maximises the usable area of the bench, and dramatically increases efficiency. To reload, a section of the bench lifts up and allows rolls to be placed easily and ergonomically.

If you are looking for a clean packaging product that will speed up your packaging process and eliminates other packaging materials then Dynasafe is the ideal solution for you. Dynasafe Retention Packaging offers amazing versatility, providing solutions for packaging a diverse range of fragile, and medium to high value products.

Don’t worry about the film, we have made Dynasafe 100% recyclable so the entire packaging can be disposed of in a household paper recycling bin. The board itself is made of 70% recycled materials and the non paper components are no more than 1.5% of the total weight meaning under EN643 packaging regulations, waste paper recycling centres regard the packaging as 100% recyclable.
