Introduction to IP Production JVC continues to expand its advanced IP technologies. The new GY-HM660 camcorder will allow reporters in the field to communicate with the studio through IFB while streaming live HD reports from the field. We’ve also added SMPTE 2022 forward error correction for increased stream reliability.” When paired with a 4G LTE modem or hotspot, the JVC camcorder’s built-in video-over-IP technology delivers high-quality streaming with a choice of resolutions, bit rates and formats without a backpack transmission system or external encoder. For more reliable streaming, it offers SMPTE 2022 or Zixi forward error correction (FEC), automatic repeat request (ARQ) and adaptive bit rate control. Our cameras also include support for Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP), which allows a direct connection to a number of content distribution networks (CDNs) including Ustream and YouTube, together with compatibility with Streamstar’s range of streaming production tools. Super 35mm Compact, convenient and ultra high definition, the GY-LS300CHE is equipped with a 4K Super 35mm CMOS sensor and accommodates a wide range of cinema and photographic lenses and adapters for dazzling cinematic effects. The latest free firmware upgrade adds a ‘JVC Log’ mode that practically duplicates the look of film, plus new Cinema 4K and Cinema 2K recording modes and a unique Prime Zoom feature that uses the camera’s innovative technology to allow zoom capabilities when using prime lenses. There’s now a 70-bit mode to enable 4K recording on standard Class 10 SDXC cards, a histogram, new zebra indication and a variety of live streaming changes, plus the ability to trigger recordings via HDMI/SDI and JVC LUT support via the Atomos Shogun or Ninja Assassin external recorders. Cinematographic recordings

JVC Log (J-Log) gamma mode

A new J-Log gamma mode for cinematographic recordings with a 800% dynamic range, which expands the possibilities for colour grading in post production.

70Mbit mode

If you want to shoot in 4K or UHD but have no SDXC UHS 1 U3 memory card available, this new 70Mbit mode allows 4K recording to a class 10 SDHC/SDXC card. From a quality point of view, it’s similar to recording in HD at 35Mbits, so still very good.

Histogram

By popular request, this function has been implemented, providing improved exposure adjustment. It can be activated from the display menu.

Spot meter

Another request for was for a spot meter, which is now available for the GY-LS300 from the function menu / user keys. Its function is the same as in the GY-HM600 Series.

Multicast address Support

Live Streaming Multicast addresses can now be entered in UDP streaming mode.

ColourMatrix & Black Paint

For colour optimisation when working with the GY-LS300, you can now access an adjustable graphical colour matrix and a black paint function from the process menu.

Digital Zoom via Variable Scan Mapping

Having a digital zoom for fixed focal length lens sounds unusual but can be very useful when you need to get just the right shot. It works using the GY-LS300’s clever Variable Scan Mapping to optimally adjust how the optics match the scan area, whichever lenses you choose to use.

GW-SP100 Remote camera head system The JVC GW-SP100E is a 4KCAM remote camera head and recording unit; the system includes the camera head, a recording/playback device with built-in monitor and a RCU controller. The GW-SP100E uses JVC’s new Super 35mm CMOS 13.6 Megapixel image sensor, and features a MFT mount for flexible adaptation to lenses and other mounts to enable the camera to use a large selection of lenses. It records at HD and 4K Ultra HD, at 4:2:2 150Mbps, and supports up to 50/60p recording in both HD and 4K. HD recording in H.264 50 Mbps or AVC HD.4K footage is recorded as a single file in AVC H.264 format at 150Mbps. There’s a FOV (Field of View) menu selection too, supporting filming in a number of resolutions including Super 35mm, UHD & HD, MFT, Super 16mm and a variable selection – this allows the user to adapt their lens selection to avoid vignetting. The GW-SP100E camera system features a video unit with a foldable and detachable 7-inch HD LCD monitor and includes a wired dedicated remote and camera control panel. The recording unit also comes with a RCU to perform major operations. Ideal for any production environment, the GW-SP100 features HDMI and also 4x SDI (quad outputs).Thanks to the system’s two dual codecs and four card slots (two for 4K, two for HD), the camera can record 4K+4K and HD+HD (continuous/backup recording), making it a very flexible system. Recording is via costeffective SDHC/SDXC cards; a single 64GB UHS-I U3 SDXC card provides around an hour of recorded 4K footage at 60p.

IP Camera Tools When you talk about streaming, it’s also important to talk about the tools required to decode or support such streaming signals. JVC cameras are not only able to stream signals, but also able to transfer content via FTP and to support metadata. They can also be operated remotely via the web, either in standalone mode with preview of live video, or in a remote production environment as a full-featured RCP. This all runs via a simple web browser, without the need for a dedicated app. JVC camcorders are also fully integrated in the productions tools from Streamstar, and are ideal for sports, weddings, music or any other events.

JVC’s line-up for professional Blu-ray recorders offers comprehensive support of a wide variety of video camera formats. Anyone who wants to burn high definition video footage of our ProHD camcorders on a Blu-ray disc or DVD can now do this quite easily and efficiently. Our new Combo Deck, the SR-HD2700, is ideal for creating standard-compliant Blu-ray discs in high-definition quality as well as for saving on standard DVDs. The recorder can record contents of numerous HD image sources. For this, the user requires no complex software or additional computer hardware. Since our Combo Deck supports the common industry standards, it is perfectly suited for use with practically all other HDV and AVCHD video cameras that are available on the market. This has the advantage that contents can be played regardless of the camcorder used. The SR-HD2700 model also offers many other features that make your job easier! THE KEY ADVANTAGE – unlike its predecessor, it is now possible to burn content directly in the BDMV format on Blu-ray disc or in DVD video format on a DVD. Another new feature is simultaneous recording on a disc and on the hard disk, but backup format DVD (VR) is used. Furthermore, when using the new HDMI input, it is now possible to record both 1080i video sources (without HDCP) and computer sources in 1920x1080/50Hz and to burn them directly on standard DVD or Blu-ray discs, e.g., recording of a multimedia event or conference. In the HD era, DVDs in SD format are still necessary; a complicated conversion process is no longer required as the SR-HD2700 can now do this ‘on the fly’. It creates a “down converted” HD signal from the 1080i HD input signal.

DT-V Monitor series has four new DT-V HD Studio Monitors The brand new DT-V line-up includes two new top models with 10-bit IPS panels and 10-bit processing (DT-V24G25 / DT-V17G25), along with two models with 8-bit IPS panels and 10-bit processing (DT-V21G2 / DTV17G2). DT-V9L5 The new DT-V9L5 replaces the DT-V9L3 series adding improvements such as new LED backlight technology and higher resolution. The DT-V9L5 uses an 8.2” IPS LED panel for the best viewing performance and the resolution has been increased to 1280 x 800 pixels for improved HD and Native SD Image performance. The monitor is a built-in unit, which includes the power supply and a 12 Volt connector. D-ILA Home Cinema Projectors Since 2011, JVC has been developing 4K precision projectors delivered by e-shift technology. Today, reflecting the accelerating trend into the 4K and HDR era, JVC announced a new line of D-ILA projectors which comply with the latest HDMI/HDCP2.2 standard. The new projectors are DLA-RS600, DLA-RS500, and DLA-RS400 (black and white versions). The performance boost is driven by a new high power lamp and further upgrades to JVCâ&#x20AC;&#x2DC;s original e-shift technology, a combination which delivers both high brightness and a high clarity 4K picture. The JVC D-ILA imaging device has a narrow pixel gap to give high light efficiency and a smooth picture. DLA-RS600/500/400 Improved JVC original e-shift4 technology JVC’s e-shift technology gives clear 4K resolution (3840x2160) images by shifting each pixel diagonally 0.5 pixels to multiply the resolution. The new JVC projectors achieve images with further improved clarity thanks to the e-shift4 technology, optimized for the combination of 4K60p compatibility and high brightness. DLA-RS600/500/400 Compatibility with the latest standard of HDMI/HDCP2.2 With the expansion of 4K streaming and the next generation Blu-ray soon to be released, JVC has incorporated the latest HDMI/HDCP2.2 standard. Both HDMI inputs will be compatible so two 4K copy protection products can be connected directly. These latest HDMI inputs will be capable of handling data transfer rate up to 18Gbps, which can deliver full spec native 4K signals such as 4K 60p 4:4:4, 4K 60p 4:2:2/36bit and 4K 24p 4:4:4/36bit. This will mean a great improvement in colour tone and gradation. Auto Calibration Function* to optimize the picture quality All of the new JVC projectors can take advantage of “Auto Calibration Function*”, which can calibrate the various pictures under various environments automatically, by using a 3rd party optical sensor available widely in the market. As a result, the picture performance will become optimum for the viewing environment. In addition, this can also compromise for the changing colour balance in long-term projector usage so the projector can be kept at its best performance. *In order to use the Auto Calibration Function, an optical sensor, exclusive software, PC and LAN cable is required.

Visualisation Series JVC Professional has a complete range of projectors for professional visualisation applications. The DLA-VS Series features versions with both conventional light sources and also a brand new laser-phosphor light source, for stable, long-life operation. The projectors can be ordered with a standard zoom lens (ZG models) or without a lens (G models) for use with dedicated high-grade wide angle lenses. The models with the standard light source are already in use around the world in Air Traffic Control and flight simulators. The DLA-SH7 Series of larger 4K projectors are also used for those applications, along with screening for planetariums. DLA-VS2300G / DLA-VS2300ZG The DLA-VS2300G and DLA-VS2300ZG are the latest additions to the Visualisation Series. They are equipped with the new laser phosphor light source, offering a long lifetime for applications that require constant running. The new light source technology, developed by JVC, consists of a blue laser combined with phosphor (a fluorescent substance). Some of the blue laser light strikes the phosphor wheel, which gives off yellow light, which is then recombined with the blue light to create white light. This white light is then split into three colours (RGB), and every JVC D-ILA projector uses three D-ILA devices – one each for red, green and blue – that are combined to create the full colour palette.

DLA-VS2500G / DLA-VS2500ZG The DLA-VS2500 projectors also offer the option to connect a 4K input source, with dedicated A/B signal driving. The unit uses native 1920x1080 D-ILA chip sets and a dedicated optical shift technology called e-shift, which creates a higher resolution with extreme low pixel density. This model offers low cost of ownership, 4.1 megapixel effective resolution with 2K to 4K upscaling (optical & electrical) and 120Hz refresh. DLA-SH7NLG JVC‘s DLA-SH7NLG projector has approximately 10 million pixels (4,096 x 2,400 pixels) image quality with ultra-high resolution. Exceptional 5000 lumen brightness is realised by a duallit system with an ultra high-pressure mercury lamp. Deeper, truer blacks are reproduced thanks to an incredible native contrast ratio of 10.000:1. Four dual-link DVI input terminals enable simultaneous multi-screen display (two or four display mode). Two types of lens are available, which can be selected depending on the throw distance required.

DLA-VS4800 JVC has shown Ultra High Definition projection in conjunction with NHK at several exhibitions, demonstrating 8K resolution (8192x4800). Now this prototype screening comes to a real product: the DLA-VS4800. This projector uses the 4K D-ILA chip (10M pixels) in conjunction with the newly-developed optical engine. To support and create 8K resolution, JVC uses its e-shift technology. The optical device and the special processing shifts the pixel in time. The contrast ratio of 10.000:1 with JVC‘s “wire grid” D-ILA technology reproduces fantastic black and incredibly deep information.

Technology Presentation Wireless ProHD transmission system This is designed for the GY-HM850 or GY-HM890 camcorders but can also be used without docking for other camcorders. Transmit live digital HD video and audio, point-to-point or point-to-multipoint, up to 1080P, with almost no delay, where a wired connection would be impossible. For transmission distance, we tested up to 400 meters, under SDI 1080p60 4:2:2, in direct line of sight. The wireless system also supports multi-cast: one transmitter to multireceivers. Additionally, it supports AES 128/256 encryption.

FS-900 Multidyne The FS-900 is a new camera mounted fibre optic system designed for JVC’s GY-HM890 ProHD camcorder. Built exclusively for JVC by MultiDyne® Video & Fiber-Optic Systems, the system supports 3G-SDI 1080p/60 camera feeds and returns, and takes advantage of the camera’s built-in streaming engine for video-over-IP functionality. The camera module connects directly to the back of GY-HM890 camcorder via 68-pin interface – no external cables required – for full studio functionality. It transports multiple bi-directional 3G-SDI signals as well as control, audio, sync and intercom between the camera and the FS-900 Base Station. Up to three cameras are supported by the Base Station, and its redundant power supplies provide up to 150 watts for each camera, as well as prompters and talent monitors. Its three-in-one configuration provides a more cost efficient solution than other multi-camera solutions previously offered by JVC and other manufacturers. With built-in gigabit Ethernet, the lightweight, 2 RU Base Station also allows video-over-IP, control and advanced configuration. The high quality 1080p video signals are ideal for webcasts, virtual sets, and image magnification (I-MAG) applications. The system integrates easily with any studio, mobile truck, or portable flypack, and connects directly with a facility’s switcher, router, intercom, and house sync systems.
