2018 Summer is Coming – Stay away from Summer Disease Summer (from June to August) is hot sunny and dry season. It brings vacation for children and also carries numbers of summer disease to children. Summer diseases are common health issues affect children to aged people. If we take certain precautions to avoid summer diseases, we can avoid summer diseases.

Common diseases in summer season: Sore eyes: Sore eyes are affected by bacteria or viral infection; it spread out to the family members too. Eye irritation will occur; Don't rub your eyes when you feel irritated Chickenpox: It is a viral disease caused by varicella zozter virus (VZV). Chickenpox mostly affects summer season. Vaccination can prevent chickenpox. Red spots on the body, fever are the chicken pox symptoms in adults, children and all ages of people. Mumps: Mumps is also a viral disease which affects the parotid gland near the ears causes swelling in ear and throat area. Rashes: Rashes due to the overexposure to sun heat. Heat stroke: Heat stroke (nausea, headache, dizziness are the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke) because of over body heat or hyperthermia which is also the effects of dehydration on the body. How to prevent summer diseases: Drink more water and stay hydrated: The habit of drinking more water is the primary and basic healthy tip to keep away from summer diseases. Don't drink only if you feel thirsty in the summer season. Drink water often to protect you from summer diseases. Dehydration will affect us when we loss excess amount of water in our body. Children lose more energy when they playing in the daytime. To avoid children to go out much in the daytime of the summer season to keep our children hydrated. Take these drinks in summer:

Buttermilk (use only in when it is not sour)

Lemon juice with salt and sugar or use electrolyte

Additional Tips: Take a bottle or packet of juice, water with you. Drink enough water to avoid yellow color peeing. Drink at least 9 to 10 glasses of water daily. Eat healthy and fresh foods: Eat freshly prepared foods in the summer season. Don't eat outside street foods like oily foods and junk foods it may affect bacteria. Don’t take heavy foods and hot foods in summer because it makes more heat in your body instead of that we can take liquid foods like cereals and Oats. Eat more fleshy vegetables and fruits than roasted, grill cooked items. Don't eat overripe fruits eg. Mango. Eat these in summer season: Cucumber, Watermelon, Pineapple, Avocados, Berries which make your body and intestine cool, also helps to be hydrated. Fruits to eat must in summer: •

Kiwi

Pineapple

Stay hygiene: Cleanliness and personal hygiene are must for us at all time, not only in summer. Avoid unhygienic activities.

Take care of your skin : 1. Wear lite weight clothes in summer because you would get sweat 2. Use mosquito lotion in night time 3. Apply skin care and sunscreen lotions when going to outdoor activities. 4. Covered your face with a soft cotton cloth. 5. Take your skin care lotion with you to apply when you feel the skin dryness. 6. Tight clothes would make irritation causes skin allergies and rashes 7. Wear sunglasses to rescue your eyes from sun heat.
