With 25 years’ experience, Adicomp is a master of manufacturing advanced air and gas solutions for the gas industry. With an extensive repertoire of compressors, the company has a global reputation of producing tailor-made, turnkey projects. Managing Director Pietro De Faveri Tron discussed the company’s current work scope and its inspiring efforts towards sustainability, in conversation with Imogen Ward.

Established in 1998, Adicomp has been at the forefront of compressor manufacturing ever since. Incorporating innovation and passion, this forwardthinking company is determined to lead the way towards a greener future.
The company currently serves over 50 countries. – the result of which is in part is due to its mergence with Termomeccanica group in 2013. Despite this success,
the company has also seen an increase in competition.
“Whenever there is a growing market,” Managing Director Pietro De Faveri Tron said, “there will be an increase in competitors. However, because it is such a big market, there is ample room for everyone; competitors are always welcome. We enjoy being challenged because we are constantly aiming to improve our business. Of course, being a pioneer has awarded us a market advantage. We are experienced; we have had time to develop our expertise and learn from mistakes. This has helped shape the company into what it is today.”
To further its edge over competition, the company is also focusing on refining its products; Adicomp will continue optimising its production processes. It will also enhance its compressor control.

ADICOMParative advantage
In ten years, Adicomp increased its turnover by more than €40 million. Mr De Faveri Tron accredits this growth to the company’s founder: “Giovanni Andreella had a vision for a greener world – a better, more sustainable one. He and his family, therefore, invested a lot of money into expanding Adicomp; he was right because at the time the company’s turnover was only €5 million, now it sits at around €50 million, thanks also to the fact that in 2013 Termomeccanica entered in Adicomp. That’s a big growth.”
Within the past year, Adicomp has continued its mission for expansion, resulting
in a 50% market growth in 2022. Out of its €50 million turnover, Adicomp will invest €4.5 million into facility expansion. This plan is already underway; the company’s assembly lines are predicted to almost double by the end of 2022. “This kind of expansion requires more space,” Mr De Faveri Tron explained. “So, we decided to create a new manufacturing facility nearby.
“This will be our fourth workshop. Furthering this investment, we also purchased the neighbouring land with plans to create a fifth facility in 2023. This will mean that by 2023’s end we will have 15,000m2 of internal space, and 10,000m2 externally for production.”
On top of this growth, Adicomp also plans to expand into more marketplaces

globally. With sights set on India – where there are plans to build around 5,000 biogas plants over the next five years – Adicomp hopes to obtain the rights to produce the compressors for around 10% of these plants; this increase would mean an impressive turnover growth of 20% for the company.
Another market Adicomp is currently infiltrating is America. The company has an office in Chicago, IL, that maintains the commercial side as well as technical assistance, with a supply of spare parts on-hand for any potential product breakdowns.
Along with the company and the number of compressors installed, the service level of the after sales department has also grown. It will include 24/7 assistance for clients –minimising repair times after system faults.
Green initiatives
Adicomp is setting the perfect example for customers and others industry-wide; the company is achieving this through its dedication to sustainability. An assortment of solar panels are positioned on the roofs of all Adicomp facilities – reducing its use of finite energy exponentially.
Having set a goal to be carbon free by 2023, Adicomp aims to produce more
electricity than it consumes –making it a pioneer in sustainability practices.
“We are working in green energy; we have a social responsibility to set these examples,” Mr De Faveri Tron said. “Even as a small company, we can make a difference.”
Sustainability is ingrained within the green-gas sector; Adicomp’s products reflect this both in design and production, with compressors that work with clean energy – natural gas, biogas and air.
Also, by offering biogas upgrades, not only has Adicomp boosted itself up the value chain, but it has also provided an alternative
to less appealing gas sources. This solution successfully combats the increasing global demand for biogas production.
Compressors designed for savings

Adicomp’s latest announcement of its new two-stage compressor also positively impacts the sustainability of its clients.
The two-stage compressor is a valuable solution to the rise in energy prices. The product was shown off at the recent Ecomondo: The Green Technology Expo; whilst at the show, the company highlighted
the compressor’s ability to reduce energy c onsumption by 7-14%. This reduction is vital in the current economic climate –with price inflation affecting everyone’s financial decisions.
“Power compressors are working 24 hours a day,” Mr De Faveri Tron said. “The two-stage compressor can save clients a considerable amount of money. Of course, the initial product cost is higher, but after the first year this investment will be recovered. This means that the customer will benefit from savings as early as year two. The product life expectancy of 20 years also means 19 further years of continuous saving.”
95% of the company’s turnover comes from the biogas sector. With such a high demand, the company is always looking for ways to improve its services. “We custommake the compressors to meet our client’s needs,” Mr De Faveri Tron said. “Our range is quite diverse in terms of specification capabilities. Going from a few kilowatts up to one megawatt, covering a range of sizes from one metre to ten metres in skid length.”

By offering this customisation, Adicomp offers a more personal approach to its customers. This is crucial to its ethos, which is dedicated to ensuring client happiness.
Despite the recent global inflation crisis, Adicomp worked hard to ensure its customers got the very best value prod -
ucts. “During this year we saw material costs increase,” Mr De Faveri Tron said, “Adicomp, however, mitigated that cost to ensure the clients were not affected by harsh price increases.”
This also gave the company an opportunity to redesign its production processes, to really ensure the best value for money whilst maintaining Adicomp’s consistent
quality. The company found a way to save money by optimising assembly hours, testing hours and engineering hours –making the system run more smoothly and efficiently. “I believe that these efforts have allowed us to meet the needs of our customers”, Mr De Faveri Tron concluded, “and that they have contributed to the achievement of the huge turnover for 2022.” n
