Identifying prior learning
The applicant contacted the Global Brain Health Institute by phone and had a discussion with the Programme Lead regarding entry to the programe. As the applicant had significant informal and non-formal prior learning the Programme Lead, in conversation with the Executive Director and the Dean of Graduate Studies a case was made for RPL for entry. The Programme Lead and RPL Project Lead developed a template to capture the applicants academic and experiential learning.
The applicant completed a template that aimed to capture academic and experiential learning across knowledge, skills, leadership amd mentorship. These are the specific expectations of learners on the programme and the applicant provided evidence of prior learning associated with these criteria.

RPL Applicant Template includes academic and experiential learning, across four critieria including knowledge, skills, leadership and mentorship.
Timelines for preparation 3 weeks. Applicant was supported by the Programme Lead
Assessors Programme Lead; Executive Director; Application approved by Course Committee; then the Dean of Graduate Studies approved the the application for RPL for entry, subject to Academic Registry approval.

Course Committee reviewed the template and evidence presented; no rubric or scoring mechanism was applied.
The Course Committee approved the application. The application was submitted to the Dean of Graduate Studies who reviewed and approved the application subject to Academic Registry approval. Aademic Registry approved the application and the applicant was registered as a student on the programme.
