Youth Enrichment & Fun Preschool through Grade 12

We believe anything is possible. You can be a great artist, a strong athlete, an engaged student and a kind friend. Community Ed can help you explore how you’re going to get there.

If We Only Had a Crystal Ball! We plan all our Community Education programs assuming they’re destined for greatness! We hope they’ll all be successful and plan them as though they’re all running at capacity. We don’t know what is going to be popular until we put the classes out there and wait, watching the registrations come in. No crystal ball, but we do have all of you! We’re listening. We’re growing. We’re learning. We’ve visited PTC meetings and turned several of those ideas into classes this year. We’re exploring ways to make our programming more accessible to all, and to be as convenient as possible for families and students. Tell us what your ideal out of school time program looks like! Contact us by email, phone, or twitter.

Register Early Classes require a minimum number of participants. Cancellations may occur if minimums are not met 1 week prior to the start date. Late registrations are subject to registration guidelines and procedures (see page 22).

POINT OF IMPACT with a+ Driving School (Parents of Students Ages 14+)

Minnesota statute now requires any new drivers to submit a written driving log with a minimum of 50 completed hours of behind the wheel practice. The requirements can be reduced to 40 hours if one or more of the student’s parents attend a Point of Impact supplemental training. This parent training opportunity covers a wide variety of topics, including the GDL (Graduated Driver Licensing) information, safety risks for teen drivers, potential adult influence on teen driving behavior, and additional resources for student drivers and parents. Handing over the keys to your kid is a big deal! Come prepare yourself! #2914B Thursday, January 10

New Space for All Learners Thank you for choosing Community Education! At Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools (PLSAS), we pride ourselves in being able to provide dozens of opportunities for students to develop skills, determine interests and discover talents. We strive to ensure we have adequate learning spaces for all of our students, which is why this school year you will start to notice several construction projects getting underway. Superintendent, Dr. Teri Staloch

Thanks to voter approval of PLSAS’ two school funding requests in 2017, we are making progress on districtwide construction projects to make space for our growing student enrollment. Teams of staff, parents and community members have been working hard researching and providing input to create exciting learning spaces across the district. Additions and renovations will take place at Jeffers Pond, Redtail Ridge, WestWood, Edgewood, and Hidden Oaks and Twin Oaks Middle Schools, to be completed by the fall of 2019. Prior Lake High School classroom additions will open in 2020. In addition, the new Bridges Area Learning Center will open in the fall of 2019 on the Twin Oaks campus, and our new elementary school is planned to open in the fall of 2020 in the Big Sky Estates development. We have a dedicated web page where our community can see building designs posted, along with our construction timeline. Visit www.priorlake-savage.k12. mn.us/construction We look forward to sharing these new spaces with our staff, students and community once they are completed. Thank you for your support of PLSAS!
