Parent Aware ratings are based on demonstrated use of practices that best prepare children for kindergarten. COF has been awarded the highest ranking possible, identifying us as a high quality early education program. We use Parent Aware approved curriculum and assessment tools aligned with the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress, which in turn align with ISD 719 kindergarten readiness expectations. We offer classes for children 3, 4 and 5 years old. Our classes range from 2 to 5 days per week, and include both half-day and full-day options. Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is an E-STEM district. E-STEM stands for Environmental Education, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We utilize both indoor and outdoor settings to learn about the world around us in real, meaningful ways. Whether you choose a nature or more traditional classroom setting, this educational philosophy is integrated throughout all of our programming. Are you the person with a special interest, talent or subject knowledge that you’d like to share with others? We are looking for people willing to add a little “class” to the lives in Prior Lake-Savage. You don’t have to be a licensed teacher. Enthusiasm combined with knowledge of a subject or skill in a special interest area will be enough to get you started. Those of us in Community Education are here to provide assistance on class content, handout production and more. We’ll let you know what we expect, how we will promote your classes and do all we can to help you succeed. You’ll receive an instructor’s handbook with all the practical details you need to know, feedback from class participants and appreciation for your efforts. But it’s not just about Community Ed, it’s about you contributing to your community to make it a better place to be and your own personal growth.

We can’t do it without YOU! Call us at 952-226-0085. Let’s get together and talk possibilities.

Advisory Councils

are active taskoriented groups who make recommendations about policies, procedures, program offerings, budgets, and more for ISD 719 Community Education Services programs. Together these groups determine what resources could be utilized to meet the needs and interests of community members without duplicating the efforts provided by others.

If you would be interested in working with a council to address the lifelong learning needs of our district, please call Leanne Weyrauch, Director at 952-226-0082, to request an application for membership.

Our Mission The mission of the Prior Lake-Savage Area Community Education Services Program is to enhance the

quality of life for all citizens by helping to provide opportunities for individuals to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities. To accomplish this mission requires that parents, family, schools, faith communities, businesses, community organizations and all people living within our community work together. This can be done through a cooperative effort in meeting the recreational, educational, social and cultural needs and wants of the community.
