Preston Lodge is a community of learning. We value achievement, happiness and respect.

Dear Parent/Carer As we settle into another school year, our senior students’ thoughts are focused on the academic challenges ahead. On page 3 this week we have the first offering of additional study support for our students, and I will shortly be writing to all families with full details of after-school opportunities in all subjects. We know that one of the most important routes to achieving success in national qualifications is the conversation that takes place between subject teachers and students, allowing teachers to gather feedback from students and students to receive advice on next steps. All students already know about the study opportunities in place in individual subjects, and I would ask parents and carers to have

conversations with their children about the subject study sessions they should attend. Thank you to all our pipers and drummers for the impressive way in which they represented our school and its community in Peebles last weekend, and farewell (and thank you) to the six members of our pipe bands who played with Preston Lodge for the last time before moving on to the wider world. Finally, well done to our Youth Achievement Event Group for the lovely coffee morning they put on for the residents of Harlawhill last week. The food and entertainment were amazing!
